علی امام کی وفات

٭23 مئی 2002ء کو پاکستان کے نامور مصور سید علی امام کراچی میں وفات پاگئے۔ سید علی امام 1924ء میں نرسنگھ پور (سی پی) میں پیدا ہوئے تھے۔ 1949ء میں انہوں نے پنجاب یونیورسٹی گریجویشن کیا۔ 1952ء میں انہوں نے راولپنڈی میں اپنا پہلا ون مین شو کیا اور 1956ء سے 1967ء تک لندن میں قیام کیا۔ 1967ء میں وہ سینٹرل انسٹیٹیوٹ آف آرٹ کے پرنسپل مقرر ہوئے۔ 1970ء میں انہوں نے کراچی میں انڈس گیلری کے نام سے ایک نجی آرٹ گیلری قائم کی۔ وہ پاکستان کے اہم مصوروں میں شمار ہوتے تھے۔ حکومت پاکستان نے انہیں تمغہ امتیاز، صدارتی تمغہ برائے حسن کارکردگی اور قائداعظم ایوارڈ عطا کیا تھا مگر انہوں نے یہ اعزازات قبول کرنے سے انکار کردیا تھا۔
