So I missed the conversation about the heritage/nationality backgrounds of our Ryders in the discord server today so I'm posting it here.

Ahnzo, Ali, Alec & Adelina: Alec and Adelina met during his n7 training in the Mediterranean, they had a house in Southern Italy after the twins were born. After the First Contact War, they moved to the Citadel.

Alec, Ellen, Morríghan, and Séamus: Irish/Scottish. Grew up on Earth in Ireland for most of their life, visited their dad on the Citadel occasionally but stuck to System Alliance space due to Ellen's research.

Ellen & Sara: Indian. Ellen had Sara and raised her as a single mom before meeting Alec & Scott when the kids were around 8 years old and Scott was showing signs of biotic abilities.

Alec, Viktor, Ellen, Sara: German. Viktor and Sara weren't close at all, and the rift between them grew exponentially after their mom died and more so after Andromeda.

Ali is Ahnzo’s twin sibling and is dfab genderqueer!! Definitely loving the new patch, you can even update your twin! Ali can finally own that purple undercut they love 💖 Their skin is also less gross and pasty pale.

Who else has the my Shepard inspired my Ryder (s) to come out of the closet? Because I do, it's good wholesome love and fluff you expect. My canon Shepard was known as a gay man but never had a relationship and never showed interest in one. But people still knew he was gay. He never felt the need to hide the fact. For example his name was made public after Alchera, that he donated to a prominent LGBT Soldiers charity. My canon Shepard inspired my canon Ryder that you don't have to be perfect to be a good (Shepard is a chaotic evil but let's ignore that for a minute) person. Ryder came out to his twin, Ali, saying he never felt like the 'male' twin and how he just didn't feel like everyone expected him to be. When he came out as non-binary to Ali, he also came out as gay saying how he really liked a certain boy on the Citadel. This then inspired Ali to come out as genderfluid and bisexual. They supported each other and they gossiped about the boys or girls they liked. When they finally felt confident in who they were they went to their parents and just kind of blurted it out all at once. 💖
