When women do covers of "Riptide" by Vance Joy and sing, "I was scared of pretty girls." I feel it.

Alice Gray - A Litte More
"I wrote this with Stephen Conley, my co-writer on Pink Cadillac and Burn. We didn’t realize until after the session that he was writing for pitch while I was writing for myself. This is probably a contributing factor to the final result being a little outside of my indie-pop lane and dipping its toes in the emo genre. It's raw and emotional and I loved recording and performing it for that reason." (press release)

A rather mysterious newcomer from Los Angeles named Alice Gray has cast quite a spell on us with her exquisite vocals and a breathtaking debut single named Pink Cadillac. Its synthwavey flourishes and crimson upsurge of impassioned synthpop is a sweeping outpouring of desire and nostalgia. Pink Cadillac fuses the 80′s inspired pop that Carly Rae Jepsen has been serving up lately with the foggy pulsing atmosphere of Chromatics and the smoky swirling allure of Lana Del Rey. There’s even a bit of Wild Nothing’s dreaminess to close out the song. Alice Gray’s debut is a grandiose summer pop ballad dripping with melancholy and heartbreak. We’re left hoping we’ll learn more about the new chanteuse soon, and hear from her again.
