Alice Nutter (died 20 August 1612) was an Englishwoman accused and hanged as a result of the Pendle witch hunt. Her life and death are commemorated by a statue in the village of Roughlee in the Pendle district of Lancashire.

Ok i have a random question, i feel like i should know this but what is anathema device's name a reference to?

Well, Agnes Nutter is a reference to Alice Nutter, a real woman hanged in a  Pendle witch hunt. Alongside her also a couple of people from the Device family were tried, so the ‘Device’ is the nod to that.

Six of the Pendle witches came from one of two families, each at the time headed by a woman in her eighties: Elizabeth Southerns (a.k.a. Demdike[a]), her daughter Elizabeth Device, and her grandchildren James and Alizon Device; Anne Whittle (a.k.a. Chattox), and her daughter Anne Redferne. The others accused were Jane Bulcock and her son John Bulcock, Alice Nutter, Katherine Hewitt, Alice Grey, and Jennet Preston.

As for ‘Anathema’, I am not sure. Wiki says: 

Anathema, in common usage, is something or someone that is detested or shunned. In its other main usage, it is a formal excommunication. The latter meaning, its ecclesiastical sense, is based on New Testament usage. In the Old Testament, anathema referred either to something (living or inanimate) that was consecrated or to something denounced as evil or accursed and set aside for sacrificial offering.
