“Clean the house and don’t forget to wash your brother’s suit. He will need them soon..”
”Suho, have you forgotten to feed the animals? What an useless brat you are. Why do we even keep you around when you can’t work on the simplest things?"
”Your father must have poisoned your mother after having seen what kind of a son she gave birth to.”
He endured a lot of comments from his step-mother and her two sons, mostly because there was no other family left that he could turn to for support. And while he could always comeback with a snappy reply and literally throw the nastiest things into their faces, he chose not to as he was at their mercy and he relied on the kindness they showed him. Junmyeon couldn’t afford to live by himself somewhere, nor did he have a job or something else that would somehow magically grant him a wish, so he kept his mouth shut and worked day after day, while treating others with the utmost kindness including his family members.
It often baffled people, how a man that was mistreated in such a horrible way and even abused during his infancy, could treat others with so much respect and was apparently always able to smile at others with nothing but sincerity hidden behind it. On the other hand, those people did not know about his wickedness and how sly he could be at times, and he figured it was better this way, for how could he risk his step-mother finding about all the plans he made in secret?Junmyeon wasn’t a bad person, in fact the kindness he displayed was genuine and he did not blame others for his own lousy fate and yet he took matters into his own hands by finding and building strategies, by refusing to be stuck in this poor life forever. And yet fate indeed proved itself to be full of surprises when he witnessed an accident happening whilst buying groceries in the town. “Help, a young lady has fallen of her horse!”As someone who was accustomed to horses and interacted with them nearly every day, he couldn’t suppress the urge to rush to the scenario and offer his aid. Of course he could hardly know that the noble lady who was covered in a thick coat was the princess, the one his step-brothers had settled their eyes on. To him, she was a lady who needed help and could possibly be wounded, so he took it upon himself to carry her to the closest tavern, followed by a few other lads.
"Inform the guards. She looks like a noble woman, so someone will most likely look out for her," Junmyeon ordered to a younger boy who eagerly nodded before setting off to fulfill his task. It was then that he finally started to observe the lady, searching for some kind of visible wounds without daring to touch, let alone undress her which was a sheer matter of respect. When she finally regained consciousness, he offered her a relieved, albeit small smile before helping her up.
"Milady, you have fallen off of your horse. Are you alright?"
