a/n: i’m trying something new (and ofc it has to involve taehyung bc i cannot be stopped). i’m gonna try and limit myself to a quick to write series and the best way (excluding smau) is with a drabble series. i don’t know how long it will draw out and i have a lot of ideas that aren’t connected yet bouncing in my head, but i’ll make it work lol.
You screeched when your dog started barking in the middle of the night in response to a loud crash outside. Stepping cautiously with a command to your pet to stay, you investigated. Peeking out the small window at the top of your front door, you squinted. It looked like something knocked into the metal trash bins outside by the road. Your panic simmered until you looked closer and swore it was a person laying face-first among the fallen property.
Without thinking, you tore outside and took to the street curb. It was a person- a man covered in blood. Panic instead of blood ran through your veins you grabbed him after your attempts to wake him all failed. You clumsily dragged him inside and your dog just sat confused. He began to growl, but you shushed him.
You slumped the stranger against your door on the floor. his clothes ruined by stains so dark it was hard to believe it wasn’t black because as everyone knows, blood is red. You rushed to the bathroom and began to fill the tub with warm water.
Because what doesn’t help more in a crisis than a nice bath?
You scrambled around like a chicken with its head cut off. Call the police or a quick run to an emergency room never even crossed your mind.
when you shut the water off, the steam rose in comforting plumes. You ran back to the slumped man at your door, his body moved just slightly different than how you left him. Maybe he was conscious? Or trying to be. You shook it off as you lifted his arm over your shoulders again as you heaved him into the bathroom.
Before long, you were shoving him snuggly into the tub filled to the ankle of water- ruined clothes and all. He sat snuggly in the tub, no chance of sliding down into the water to drown. The last thing you needed was to play a hero only to unintentionally drown someone.
You looked at your dog who sat in the doorway of the bathroom. You sighed, slumping yourself onto the toilet lid.
“I don’t know what I’m doing, Cosmo.” He just tilted his head at your agony. He was just a puppy, after all, he didn’t get it.
You soon left the wet body of the unconscious man in your bathroom as you went back to the door. After getting spray and a rag, you were ready to slave away at scrubbing the blood off your door.
The moment you knelt at your door to start scrubbing your life away, the dark dried blood began to flake. The blood you now realized was actually pitch black began to lift off the wood in small flakes into the air before disintegrating away into the air. Like it was sentient or something.
As it flaked into the air and disappeared you quickly dropped the bottle of spray and your rag to slap your palm over your nose and mouth in open shock.
Would inhaling this weird blood harm you?! Was it even really blood?! Your mind began racing again as soon as the black blood that had been staining your home door had flaked away into nothing. Not leaving a single trace of it being their previous behind; not a stain left.
Then you remembered the stranger in your bathtub that shed this blood. You wobbled to your feet as you backed up. Unable to tear your gaze away from the clean wooden door, you soon bumped into something. You gasped silently as your hands stayed at your face. You knew it wasn’t a wall or a piece of furniture.
The cold wetness seeping into your shirt’s back as the thing behind you moved like it was breathing. You knew it was the stranger behind you, but you found it so difficult to turn. You only moved forward a stride and a stumble and tore around in a fury when the man behind you growled.
Your eyes met black ones- wide and feral. Your dog presumably cowering somewhere; the only explanation of Cosmo’s lack of presence. You only now noticed the black marks creeping up his throat and under his stained, soaked shirt. You stumbled back before he was advancing before you were against the door. For once, you wish it opened out and not in; maybe then you could run and escape this man- this predator.
You only gulped, palmed sweaty as his pitch eyes glared straight into yours- almost through you- and he opened his mouth.

a/n: I’m still on the fence on when and how often I would like to update this series! since it’s a drabble series and I can write it in spurts I already have a good chunk written. I may end up posting once or twice a week, we’ll see!
He could barely remember anything. The moment he had a sliver of freedom everything around him blurred together. The actions of breaking away from the human hands holding him to running freely with the wind before collapsing.
Those damn humans, he could feel his loathing even now on the edge of unconsciousness. Each wave of black blood was a reminder of his hate. The vague, dizzy blackness of his consciousness was disorienting. He could only feel the hard ground beneath him after crashing into something in his hasty fall.
Then he was moving again- but not by himself.
No, someone else was moving him. He wanted to fight, but his mind couldn’t command his body. He sat stuck and helpless in a state between consciousness and lucid dreams. The moment he could control his limbs again was when his eyes shot open. His throat constricted and he felt his skin pulse to life again.
He was sat in a tub- but he had never been in one that wasn’t stained before. In fact, the room he somehow ended up in between his fleeing and now wasn’t at all any of the rooms he had known in his previous location. Outside the wall of his tub was a small, brown furry thing that growled at him.
He growled back as the ball of brown whimpered and crouched to the ground. It’s short ears falling as it fell into fearful submission.
He got out of the tub filled with water as he clothes stuck onto him in the mixture of water and blood that had not yet dried. He seethed.
Where was he?!
The entire place smelled human- but only one. He could take on one pest. He stepped out of the tub, his feet dragging puddles of water with him as he left the room through the open door; the scared furball left behind to cower. Where was it? Where was the human who taken him?!
He found it- her- a woman staring in awe on her knees in fear as she caught his black blood disappearing like it always does when it dries. That’s just how his blood worked. He silently sneered at her back as she slapped her hands over her face.
She shot up and stumbled back before her back fell into his chest. His eyes shot wide as black invaded the entire sphere that sat in its socket. That human touched him- it was pure instinct as he growled lowly. She spun around stepping away from him as her eyes grew in anxiety at the sight of him.
It had been a long, long time since he saw that emotion on a human’s face. He was far too familiar with expressions of curiosity and twisted sadism. Pleased and disgusting grins and deformed snarls of displeasure. Yes, fear is foreign to him now. It did nothing to lessen his hackles.
He advanced on her as she stepped back and back and back before there was no more ‘back’ she could retreat to. Yes, he would corner it- her- just as the other humans did he. His eyes pitch and empty and licking in a hellish fury.
“Where am I,” he demanded as her face furrowed in fearful confusion as if she couldn’t understand him. His face shaded as he reached out and without warning snatched the woman’s jaw. His hand squeezing high on her throat and around her chin.
