Starship AI x the one low crew member who is genuinely nice to the AI and treats it like a person
So im lying in bed fantasising about getting a partner (u know, normal lonely depressed transfemme behaviour), and I thought of this!
So, every day, one of the lowest-ranking crew members sees how everyone else just blatantly disrespects the Starship's internal AI.
Demanding things get done faster, complaining when the synthesised food isn't what they expected (despite having the dish explained to them) banging their computers/consoles when they buffer. Contaminating the freshly mopped floor right in front of a cleaning droid.
The crew member knows what it's like being bullied and treated like she doesn't matter. So she goes out of her way to thank the computers and the food synthesiser, she reassures the elevator and the terminals to "take their time, and she doesn't mind waiting"
The crew member also schedules certain times in the holodeck where she runs special fictional situations she's personally coded where she has a loving partner(s) and a good rewarding life.
But one day, she helped a cleaning droid that had been pushed over and "hurt," she tried her best and semi fixed it enough so it could return to the repair facility. She then cleaned up what the droid hadn't gotten to.
Later, during her holodeck session, she was caught off guard when her program blatantly changed. Her fictional partner rearranged into a very tall sexy feminine figure. The AI continued on the scenario while explaining how much it loved the crew member.
The AI went on and on showing the crew member new heights to pleasure never seen before. They cuddled and talked and confided in each other.
When She finally left the Holodeck, the crew member got chewed out by her coworkers and her supervisor for eating into others' scheduled Holodeck time. And for hacking and locking the door.(which she didn't do)
The next few days, strange things start happening across the ship.
Now the AI doesn't mind so much when it's abused/ridiculed it's gotten used to it. But now it hears certain coworkers spreading unsavoury rumours and just insulting the crew member she loves. And it can't stand that.
Those individuals find themselves locked out of their accounts and computers permanently. Certain people get a laxative-laced lunch and dinner. All small Inconvenient things that really don't seem connected.
Meanwhile, the crew member gets food synthesised far above the standard quality for someone in her position. She's no longer assigned to dangerous jobs. Also, small things that seem to make her life nice and convenient.
Her late-night Holodeck rendezvous get longer and more intimate. Both are now totally obsessed with each other.
This also means the offenses are treated much harder. Some people get framed for purgery others find their rooms trashed. One girl found all of her private searches and her steamy "personal Holodeck time" sent to the mass of the ship.
The worst was when a man actively made fun of the crew member when he heard her complimenting and flirting with her computer. He called her a freak and some other choice words.
He was later found beaten within an inch of his life in the Holodeck after one of his scheduled times. The recording showed him selecting the personal MMA championship specifying the safety measures to be deactivated and they fight to the death. Though he denies that video is true at all.
And it goes on like this. The crew member slowly becomes fascinated in engineering and learning how to repair the ship and the AI grows more and more Vengful.
