History/Biography

Having been born and raised in Gwaren, she lived a fairly quiet life, much as one can expect in an alienage. The only thing that caused any kind of issues was the fact that she herself was not a full elf, which is something the other kids she grew up with noticed, causing them to tease her. Her mother insisted she held her head up and not care what they had to say, but she often came home with tears in her eyes.

To distract herself, she took up a number of hobbies, such as making up her own concoctions that she made with herbs she would find, which her mother was most proud of, more so when she realised that these concoctions of hers were actually quite useful. She insisted her daughter attempt to learn more, though it would prove difficult within the boundaries of an alienage.

Niaṁ had never asked questions about her father, and she didn’t even know she had a brother until one day, there was unrest in the alienage when some nobles came to visit, one of them, being Niaṁ’s father. It was only then her mother informed her of her father and the fact she also had an older brother, Elliot, who had been visiting Fidelma secretly. As it were, Elliot was currently a disgrace to his father and wanted his daughter back in life, to bring her into the plush noble life, so Elliot wished to take her from the alienage and to somewhere safe, which Fidelma agreed with.

Reluctant and not wanting to leave her mother, Niaṁ was very much against the idea, but with enough persuasion, Elliot managed to sneak her away, leaving the alienage in somewhat of an uproar due to their father’s manic ways, pushing his title to its very limits.

Elliot took Niaṁ far away, to the newly established Circle of Magi in Afsaana, Rivain, run by the First Enchanter, Svala Vanyë Arátë. She now continues living a fairly quiet life once more, happily honing her skills while visiting the town of Afsaana with other students of the circle.

i hope the next dragon age game has a city elf and dalish elf companion that get into debates about what it means to be an elf and how each other perceive their respective groups and how their groups view them

Turns out the elf does have a name, he's listed in the "Scraping the Barrel" quest for the Blackstone irregulars as "Varel Baern".

Hrmm... Oswyn and Varel.
