I saw that other person talk about their aquarius dog (which is so cute btw) and it just made me think of my sag dog who rly does feel like a sag 😭💖 Just constantly ready to escape and explore LOL and doesn't give an f about anything (as opposed to my other scorpio dog who Stares 👁👁 intensely at everyone and is very protective). Also just discovered ur blog and your posts are so interesting and I love ur url and setup, it's so beautiful :').
the adorableness that radiates from this is insane!!! 🥺🥺 to be honest i didn’t know animals also embodied the traits of their signs so well... but your cute doggos do it so perfectly that i can’t even doubt it at all!
and THANK YOU!!! that means the world to me since i’m quite meticulous with my blog setup sdhkahs please have a wonderful day!! 💖💞💘💖💌
Ooh I saw the last ask you responded to - could I ask you more about your oc's? Like what your characters are like and how you developed them :0?
hi!!! i'm really sorry for taking so long to get to this lmao,, thank you for your patience! [context: this is in reference to this ask from the end of december..]
in general, though, most of my character development & worldbuilding takes place in my head, partly because i feel embarrassed to write or draw anything, but also because i just like to daydream ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i'm gonna try divide this up into sections based on setting/universe but it's gonna run a bit long lmao...
pf2e characters
mishka is my catfolk monk! she's not particularly good at the meditative/spiritual aspects of her class and can sometimes be a bit cocky (a bit similar to korra at the beginning of the legend of korra, although i didn't realize the resemblance until after i'd started playing). she tends to run away from her problems and carries a lot of guilt about past mistakes and accidents. her goals/aspirations aren't really well-defined, but i think she's just trying to find her place in the world
my second pathfinder character is ryn, a half-elf rogue. i don't really have much of a personality for her, so she feels very flimsy to me.. (it doesn't help that i'm terrible at playing her as her class; she may be better as a fighter or swashbuckler.) as for what little personality & backstory she has, ryn's a courier with a side hustle as a smuggler. she dated a member of the city guard for a time, only to discover that he and his squad were werewolves that were terrorizing the city's lower classes and hunting criminals for sport. she's bi, but doesn't know it yet.
then there's galina volkova; she's a wolf beastkin ranger and i'm really proud of the pun with her last name even though no one else in the campaign has noticed or acknowledged it :( her backstory is the least developed of the three, but involves her leaving her clan and ending up with her father's pelt as her cloak. she's supposed to be sort of a quiet, intimidating sort. or sort of like the kind of female fantasy protagonist that only relies on herself but later learns to open up to others, lmao
all three are dexterity-based builds..... it's kind of typical of me, since i've had a "hit your opponent before they hit you" philosophy for rpgs ever since i first played pokemon
i also have some other character concepts waiting in the wings in case any of these three die.. they include:
adhara cassegrain (half-elf cleric of desna, luck & star domains); a travelling cleric whose duty is to guide others. she does this in a literal sense by helping travellers navigate, as well as spiritually through fortune-telling. she's often oblivious to fortunes intended for herself, and may or may not be in love with a star
bartholomew crinklewhisker (catfolk wizard); one of mishka's cousins. he's working on his wizard phd in metamagic, and turns to adventuring for fieldwork. ideally, he'd be a replacement character if mishka dies during the campaign, but we already have a couple of spellcasters so i don't want to overdo it
in terms of coming up with/developing pathfinder characters, i usually just read through the different classes and ancestries in archives of nethys and see what sorts of combinations sound interesting!
d&d characters
i don't really have anything set in stone for my eventual d&d campaign.. i'd previously mentioned the kobold metalworkers and the rescuable wyrmling, but i've been stalled a little bit on other npcs and potential plotlines & hooks. there's a lot of source material to sift through, so it can be a bit overwhelming
magical girl universe or whatever it is
i don't really have much decided about names/character designs/etc, but each member of the team is based on one of the suits of the minor arcana:
swords: this is literally the most obvious one. she fights with a sword, but also has air-based magic. she's the most aloof of the group, and is kind of the homura to cups' madoka. if that makes sense.
wands: she has the most versatile weapons & magic of the group, partly because i've seen wands sometimes represented as things like arrows or staves depending on the tarot deck. other than that, she's the least-defined of the group. uses fire magic.
pentacles: projects an image of being the most grounded of the group, so she ends up acting as the leader. her magic is earth- and plant-based. uses a shield that looks like a pentacle, as well as a battle-axe where the pentacle design is supposed to be incorporated into the axehead
cups: i'd previously mentioned having difficulty deciding on her fighting style; this has not changed
space opera story thing
i don't have much to say about the characters that i hadn't already here, unfortunately... the galactic princess and the courier have kind of a forbidden romance thing going on, but moongirl makes it into a bit of a triangle. that's generally the b-plot though; the main story is the fetch quest for the power fragments
whatever the last thing is (aka april and the demon girl)
these two live in my head rent-free, even though there isn't strictly a plot to their nonsense. april is a current university student in [idk the program yet], while the still-unnamed demon girl is on leave from her electrical engineering program. there might be a road trip arc at some point.
