I tried to make my own line by walking in the grass, like in the photograph the book and it’s title reference, but it’s not quite as visible as I hoped. Anyways, this is a strange book. I wasn’t too sure about it at first, but then I really fell in love with it. The book discusses life in Ireland after the financial crash which I was studying in one of my classes this last semester, so that was fascinating to read. But what I really loved and was more the focus of the story was the discussion of mental health. The main character suffers from pretty strong anxiety and depression (so TW for that). I personally thought it was great representation and I connected to a lot of what she was going through. Her passion is art and photography and she constantly talks (and tests herself) about different artworks and it was fascinating to learn about artists and works I was unfamiliar with. It’s not a fast paced novel but I wouldn’t want it to be. It was nice to just take my time with it and learn about the main character.
