HAPPY BIRTHDAY COOKYYYUUY
LOOKING FOR THE GOOD
I am sometimes perplexed by people who only see the worst. I understand it, but I don’t believe in that. Ever since I was a little, I have had a quiet love affair with the wonders of Nature: a grove of giant redwoods, the vastness of the galaxies, the joys of a dog’s bark, the love of friends, a beautiful sunset. What would our lives be if we didn’t appreciate the universe we inhabit? How much better would our lives be if we spent more time acknowledging that?
I hope I never grow so weary and worn down and jaded that I forget my place.
Alistair Cook wrote: “In the best of times, our days are numbered anyway. So it would be a crime against nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were designed in the first place: the opportunity to do good work, to enjoy friends, to fall in love, to hit a ball, and to bounce a baby.”
My brother (who is sitting right next to me btw) just messaged me to tell me that his was the most liked comment on a cricket article and it was fucking this
