I absolutely adored these two's friendship and how they bond over bristle. ivypool will and does drop everything to be in her son in laws defense and ivy doesn't even question anything, just that this cat was the one her daughter loved and took him under her wing

someone got river early and does chapter summaries and in gatherings root would walk over to ivy and she would, quote, "nuzzle him warmly"

you can hear my choking sobs actually, i care they sm, root is now permanently a part of the family and is obligated to attend family dinners
