Summary:
Given how freely the Shadowhunters walk in and out of Magnus' loft, especially when they need his help, it's only a matter of time before they manage to embarrass Alec.
Comedy fluff scene I'd love to see sometime in 2b, because I can't get enough of red-faced Alec and shameless Magnus.
So my mother has made a request of us.-ALB
Oh? What is that?-MLB
She wants us to host a family dinner. Just her and Iz and Jace and Max. And maybe her adopted grand baby if Cat is willing to let Madzie come over.-ALB
Alexander you had me worried for a moment. You know I love playing host.-MLB
I know. I just wanted to make sure it was alright before my family invaded our home.-ALB
They are my family too now. A family that I love more than anything.-MLB
If I wasn’t already married to you I would ask you all over again.-ALB
Well I certainly wouldn’t mind another wedding.-MLB
We can talk about that later. I am going to work out a date for the dinner with my mother. I’ll see you when I get home. I love you.-ALB
And I love you Alexander. I will see you when you get home.-MLB
The night of the dinner Alec was worrying over every detail as always and Magnus just sat back and drank some wine while he tried to get his husband to calm down. Alec had been banished from cooking this time. Magnus had popped in through a few portals to get the food, and to pick up an adorable little girl to spend the night with her favorite uncles. Dinner went without a hitch with Magnus playing the most gracious of host as always.
Everyone was in the living room afterwards, relaxing while Magnus watched from afar. Jace and Isabelle and Alec were having a discussion about something involving work and Max and Madzie were off playing in the corner. Magnus let out a pleased sound as he watched, taking a sip of his wine as he watched his family. He never thought he could be this happy.
“There you are. I thought you were hiding from us.” A voice said from behind, causing Magnus to turn around to see Maryse standing behind him. Magnus smiled softly at her and gave her a hug. “Hide from my gorgeous family? Never. Simply just enjoying seeing everyone have a good time together.”
Maryse chuckled a bit, glancing over at her family as well. “You are such a wonderful addition to our family. I don’t think I have ever seen my son so happy before. You came into his life and he just…opened up. I know I have told you before how happy I am that the two of you found each other, but I really am. You two make such a wonderful couple.” Magnus smiled a bit more at that. Maryse gave him another hug before going to sit next to Alec and Izzy.
Magnus finished his drink before going to the kitchen to clean up. Even though he could have cleaned them up with his magic, some things he just liked to do with his hands. He was just about finished when he felt a familiar set of arms wrap around him. He grinned as he turned around to face his husband. “Hello there darling.” He leaned up to kiss Alec, grinning at the man he loved.
Alec smiled at that, leaning in to bury his face in his husband’s neck. “You disappeared and I just wanted to make sure you were alright.” Magnus chuckled a bit at that, running his fingers through his husband’s hair. “I’m fine darling. Just counting my blessings. And I have all of them because of you. Come on. Let’s go rejoin your family. We did promise Madzie and Max a story after all.”
Summary: Making a birthday cake for the renowned chef Magnus Bane is a hard enough task – made harder still by the fact his girlfriend doesn’t seem to know Magnus’ likes or dislikes at all. Alec Lightwood, maker of some of the finest cakes in Brooklyn, is up to the challenge, even if he can’t take his eyes off the birthday boy. But as Alec and Magnus grow closer, could it be that the missing ingredient is true love?
Yes, there will be life after you. If I’m not killed by something or someone, I will go on living. That’s a certainty. It doesn’t make me happy about it. And it doesn’t make our life together any less.
Some sad words from Magnus when discussing Alec's innate mortality after the events of 3x05 from the touching fic Variations on a Theme by @alittlebriton .
alittlebriton replied to your post: Oh great I’ve just destroyed my one and only HS...
I’m going to HS in a couple of weeks. Tell me what you want and what size and I’ll get it and post it to you.
Oh wow that is the most adorable offer ever, I don't know what to say!!
I mean I do know what to say, which is that spending 30€ on a tshirt was enough and I can't bring myself to buy another one (especially when I know full well I'm going to go crazy with the merch at Niall's concert next week), but I appreciate the offer so SO much, thank you <33333
