@beatperfume replied to your post “
In regards to the whole Magnus not apologizing and therefore Alec...”
Waiting Game is by bbk! I only wish I had written it. <3
I literally frowned at this reply because obviously bbk wrote it, I even linked to it in the post, why were you saying this? Somehow I both mentioned and tagged you instead of bbk and didn’t even notice? 😳
Brains are the worst, thanks for yelling at mine 😅
(and this got rather absurdly long... )
@vellesian replied to your post “
tbf magnus did apologize in 3x15 :D
”
3x15? That he said he was wrong and that Alec can talk to friends? That's so minor I forgot about it :/
oh, is that what nonny meant? I really thought there was a dashed off sorry somewhere in the Lilith mess. I guess now I have to rewatch to figure it out! (Oh no, the hardship.)
@quilleth mentioned you on a post “7kpp Prompt Fill: Breathe”
@faejilly it really is such a good moment!
ikr? Ah, such a good game.
@vellesian replied to your post “
That’s actually hilarious how Magnus specifically considers...”
I'm cry
Thank you! Sorry? (BothIsGood.gif)
@ladymatt replied to your post “
tbf magnus did apologize in 3x15 :D
”
I did! It's why I said Magnus doesn't apologise 'enough' in my tags and not 'at all'! But I knew what you were trying to say!
thank you! Glad I’m at least marginally comprehensible... *laughs*
@lynne-monstr mentioned you on a post “oh crap my family is figuring out there are apps to do video chat...”
yeah I think blaming the wifi is the best way to do this without hurt feelings. (lol I don't do well with video without makeup, even for family)
blame the wifi! always an option
(tho I cannot relate, I’m fine with being a goblin in the semi-public of a video chat. It’s amazing how often the whoops forgot to shower today used to line up with my online RPG night, and I still turned on that webcam every week 🤣)
@angelrtsy95 replied to your post “
Ok but what are your Smallville opinions?!?!?! Inquiring minds wish...”
Thanks for answering! I really loved some of the plot arcs, but some that I liked just seemed to get dropped? Like, Zatanna could have been such a fun character to bring in more of, but she only had a handful of appearances?
I HAD FORGOTTEN ZATANNA ENTIRELY
so clearly, yeah, there should have been more of her!
(The show didn’t seem to ever have a plan, tbqh, and for long-form storytelling, even the relatively stand-alone kind you get in an episodic TV show, is a really glaring flaw.)
@firstaudrina replied to your post “Fic Writer Game”
YAAAAS I accept the blame!!! I was hoping you'd do this! And WOW you've written so much, I'm so impressed!!
awww, thank you.
I have a lot of issues watching other writers continue to post things, and finish things, and get a little hung up on it, so it’s nice to be reminded that I do actually write quite a bit, even if I can’t maintain anything like a schedule 😅
@silver-latin-and-salt mentioned you on a post “.”
<3 thank u! I'm getting there
AND YOU DID IN FACT GET THERE AND IT’S LOVELY <3
@leahazel reblogged your post and added:
For your consideration: edgy florist is a hardcore variation on the person who hangs out with animals because they can’t seem to manage to get along with people. What’s even less socially demanding than a dog or cat? A vase full of flowers, is what.
Conversely, a tattoo artist can’t make their tattoos in the back of the shop and then present them completed to the customer. They have to spend hours with each customer, working together and making sure it all comes out right. Tattooists have social skills up the wazoo.
Summary: Former Interpol agent Luke Garroway has lost everything. Or so he thinks. An offer to turn his life around comes with just one catch: switching sides. Leading a team of hackers and thieves, Luke’s biggest challenge might be making them all get along.
Malec, marriage of convenience au or role reversal au?
marriage of convenience all the way tbh. i’ve just never been about role reversals, but esp with these two i feel like it changes their whole dynamic and not in a way that’s at all compelling? obvs ymmv - if anyone has any recs you think would change my mind hmu!!
but marriage of convenience? i love that trope in literally all its forms but for these two i’m immediately thinking political alliance to merge the downworld with the sh, like imagine:
alec ‘duty above all else’ lightwood ready to play ball from the get go while magnus has to be cajoled by ragnor and cat like “he’s a mortal and a sh babe, you’re only gonna have to put up with him for like ten years tops”
their first meeting being totally awkward and overly formal while they both are internally freaking out bc ‘oh shit he’s hot’
having a bit of a ‘courtship’ period to get to know each other before the wedding and by tyhe time they say ‘i do’ they’re both half in love already
their first kiss is still at a wedding but this time it’s THEIRS
the wedding night being so soft and awkward bc they both want to reach out so badly but they also don’t want to seem like they have ~expectations
both thinking the other still views the arrangement as purely political and everyone around them about to throw an intervention bc it is so fucking painful to watch these idiots
just slow burn mutual pining goodness that ends in stupidly romantic and overly dramatic declarations and they all live happily ever after the end
Probably The Good Place? I’m sure as hell not choosing Inhumans, and Defenders was fine, but I feel like when I only paid attention to the parts involving half the heroes, I don’t get to count the show. And The Good Place is generally terrific but also has Chidi, which automatically gives it several dozen bonus points.
Other than that, all I watch is Survivor and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which aren’t new, and several hours of MSNBC a day, which is more a full-fledged compulsion (Literally. I’ve had to talk to my therapist about it.) than a show I’m watching.
42. What are you most proud of accomplishing?
I took on new responsibilities at work! I don’t talk about them on here, but they’re things I’d avoided in the past and I’m really proud of myself for stepping up and doing them and not fucking up terribly.
I also wrote fic for the first time in years, which I’m pleased with, and I’d love to do more of.
The Lightwood Family had a very classy well-run winery. The Truebloods had a much less classy distillery. They worked well together though, and were developing their own recipe for Licor de Orujo (grape liquor? Idk, I’ve never had it, but it sounds like a Maryse drink in my head). Before Prohibition.
Robert & Maryse attempted to navigate the rise of organized crime and the loss of their legitimate income via informing to the feds. This did not work out well for them. They’re in hiding. Alec runs the best “alcohol distribution” business in NYC now that they’re gone.
JACE IS A RUM-RUNNER. Driving from Canada to NYC thru upstate New York, his car’s terrifying and sounds like a monster about to devour you but it’s fast. No one knows how he keeps it running. (He doesn’t, Maia & Izzy do.) If he needs to be quiet rather than fast, he’s got friends in stables all over the state, and he uses horses instead.
Magnus runs a speakeasy, of course. Not just any speakeasy but the one everyone actually knows about, the one that somehow exists almost in public, the one with the best headliners and promising newbies (Simon & Clary) and the best booze (thanks Alec) and no raids.
Det. Luke Garroway is why there are no raids... he feels a little conflicted about it, but he knows Magnus uses his clout and money to help keep the peace in his neighborhoods, uses the “fronts” to give “legitimate” work to people who can’t get regular respectable work, immigrants and widows and orphans, people who are running from something and have nowhere else to go. That’s worth a lot, and Luke knows when he has to bend because the rules aren’t good enough.
AND THIS GOT VERY IN-DEPTH, WHOOPS. Someone write this for me, that’d be great.
Why are there not more time-setting change AU’s? They’d be great. Like. @actuallyredorchid & @la-muerta have both written some I think, but there are not enough of them. *grabby hands*
Summary: Making a birthday cake for the renowned chef Magnus Bane is a hard enough task – made harder still by the fact his girlfriend doesn’t seem to know Magnus’ likes or dislikes at all. Alec Lightwood, maker of some of the finest cakes in Brooklyn, is up to the challenge, even if he can’t take his eyes off the birthday boy. But as Alec and Magnus grow closer, could it be that the missing ingredient is true love?
