“The Joker” from Death of the Family. This is a gift for the incredibly rad @bggrizzo. I hope you like it, Bryan!
I woke up today with a letter at my door The envelope 20-years-old. Inside the handwritten Date of my birth Intrigued me ever so.
“Hello my darling, You don’t know me Yet But you will. I managed to convince a nurse To cart me to the neonatal unit today So I could look upon your face Once more Although it was the first time for you
You looked at me I don’t think you could see me But somehow I think you knew
I can’t tell you much more, my love Spoilers and all But time will tell the truth
I’m old now Trying to write from My frail memories The story your future My past
It was brief, and beautiful, And full of so much light But I had and you will have Important things to do
When it is time to leave Make sure you go Time won’t change my love
Just know Before I died I got to say a proper goodbye And see you One last time”
I folded the letter Like the puzzled folds in my face And wouldn’t think much of it For several more years.

Collab of the Week
This week’s Collab of the Week is this piece by @aliveinsideink and @wordrummager
Two weeks of photography/poem mashups? YES! We love the trend. For this week’s collab, both parties were involved in photography and poetry. That’s a talented pair! The photography and edits are beautiful and take the eyes on a journey through the words of the poetry. Absolutely stunning piece! Congrats to you both!
If you missed it, we will be reblogging this piece a few times throughout the week! Send your collaborations our way, and maybe you could be our #CollaboftheWeek next week! (Posts tagged #artisticcollaborations get special attention)
received @reinventingwednesday's and @aliveinsideink's books today! i am quite excited to add them to my massive to-read list (they are now 2nd & 3rd on the list). :) [also note the photo - appropriate shadow...]
I am but a mirage on your skin
One of many, few of none
Wisp of misplaced thought
Soon forgotten,
Summarily dismissed
As trite and irrelevant in your eyes
As you are of utmost importance in mine.
A cry of despair
The death of my heart
I sink in dark.
