Anna May/Hudson - “You don’t have to leave so soon.”
I’m still not really use to writing fluff, so sorry if this is really short XD
“Do you still plan on confronting Joseph today?”
Anna May flinched at the question as Hudson shifted around on the bed, turning over so she was looking up at her, waiting for a response.
“Yeah,” Anna May replied, her voice croaking. She cleared her throat.
“Yeah. I am,” she repeated.
Hudson nodded and laid her head back down, resting it on Anna May’s shoulder. Anna May closed her eyes and leaned her head until her cheek was laying on top of Hudson’s head and sighed.
“After everything is finally done, things are not going to be like they were before, are they?” Anna May asked.
“You know they won’t be,” Hudson said, “ But at least this county won’t have a cult anymore.”
“At least there won’t be a cult anymore,” Anna May repeated. They laid there in silence as, from behind the curtain Anna May had hung over the open wall of the cell she and Hudson shared, more people began to wake up, not knowing that possibly, today, this ordeal will finally be over.
“There's going to be a lot of things that are going to have to change around here,” Anna May said, “A lot of cult property we’ll have to tear down.”
“Look on the bright side, we already started. Faith’s shrines are almost all gone, the silos are not functional anymore, and you got rid of that eyesore of a statue,” Hudson said.
“It was a really ugly statue,” Anna May agreed, causing Hudson to laugh.
“I should get ready to leave then,” Anna May made to get up but Hudson laid an arm across her.
“Don’t go, not yet,” She said, “You don’t have to leave so soon, the sun is barely even up.”
“The sooner I go, the sooner we can lay like this in bed all day, without Joseph Seed and the peggies bugging us every hour of the day,” Anna May pointed out.
“Five more minutes. You’re warm,” Hudson said, making Anna May laugh. Anna May shifted a bit, trying to get more comfortable.
“Alright, five more minutes,” she replied, as Hudson gave a content sigh right next to her.
