why wasn't anyone able to help cinderella?

“Well, Cinderella did receive help. The kind mice and animals of the chateau that she befriended helped her and so did the Fairy Godmother, arriving at just the right moment to make a miracle happen that could change her life for the better. It is quite unfortunate the situation that poor girl was in, but magic can only do so much. We all have to help ourselves too, and that’s just what dear Cinderella did.”

MINT: does your muse view themselves as virtuous & moral ? what do these words mean to them ? ( still accepting )

Cinderella makes a concentrated effort to be the best person she can be. That being said, she has her limits. She gets aggressive at times, frustrated, and downright exacerbated. However, she does view herself as an overall virtuous and moral person. To her, this means she tries her best to get along with everyone and keeps her head held high and dignity intact even when others are trying to get the best of her. She tries not to retaliate when someone slings mud at her and mostly succeeds, though, like I mentioned above, she can definitely snap at times.

Morality is a slippery slope for Cinderella. While others might think following the rules society or a parental figure has set up substitutes a character that's virtuous and moral, Cinderella disagrees. The mice are one such example. Cinderella has explicitly been told to kill mice and use mouse traps around the house. However, Cinderella has been fostering these mice for years, and feeding them, and clothing them. Is this technically wrong? Well, according to the rules of her household, yes. But, to Cinderella, she wouldn't be practicing her morality if she simply allowed these animals to die. Bruno is another example. She has been told to keep him outside by her stepfamily, but she allows him to continue sleeping in the house. This can potentially present a threat to Lucifer and directly disobeys orders. Again, Cinderella is doing this because she believes it's in everyone's best interest. Trying to cover this up, or lying, only justifies the end goal of keeping Bruno happy and safe.

Finally, she never would've gone to the ball if this wasn't the ideology she operated under. She was jeered and laughed at for wanting to assert her right to go to the ball. She trapped her family by using the legal wording of the King's invitation (by royal command, every eligible maiden is to attend). Then, she was told she could go IF she found something suitable to wear. When she did, this was ripped directly from her body in a horrifying assault. But does this stop her? No! She still goes to the ball, directly! Also, the Fairy Godmother specifically tells her to leave the ball at midnight. However, the Grand Duke tells her to stop. By her continuing to leave, even with armed forces chasing after her, it could be argued she is disobeying the law of her land. She does this because, in this specific instance, she'd rather keep her word with her Fairy Godmother than be at the whim of her government.

There are so many additional examples of this but, in a nutshell, this is Cinderella's approach to morality and virtue through a few illustrated examples.
