I had the most terrific idea and urge to write a slave coding fic but I couldn't decide on continuity. There's so much to be done and I geneuinely don't want to start yet another 24k+ fic I don't complete because my interest waned.
But...
aw he's too cute not to put through a meat grinder
Slave Coding Brainrot Go!!
G1: This one tastes the sweetest. Because Bumblebee is just so kind and innocent. But he's always being picked on by larger bots and unlike Rumble doesn't have it in him to literally smash them through a wall.
I love the idea that Prime would be logical about it, would remain calm to get him fixed, but I think it would wear on him. As most problems, even in the comics, were resolved within an episode/issue. When they weren't, OP tended to get testy. He was always about jokes and knowing he could handle it, until he couldn't. Then Orion started to come out.
Bee himself would probably be miserable. Genuinely and utterly miserable. Because he sees his brothers in arms as close friends, he would hate to be seen bowing, begging, and a living foot stool. But I think he'd also be the most afraid of pain. The code would snap at his insides with electricity and heat, and the threat of agony would quickly keep him in line.
07: Would be the angriest by far. Bayverse Bumblebee is beyond proud, cocky, confident, and kind of a jerk. Beer pong frat boy with a volleyball player/otter mode type of body youthfulness.
He's the shit, he knows he's the cutest (puppy dog act which Drift calls him out on) and is used to getting his way if he pouts.
But that control's been taken. He's a slave. The pain would get to him but he'd be bubbling from the inside with how much he'd withstand. Serving Prime wouldn't bother him so much as it not being his choice. He would feel loads of embarrassment from how utterly weak he presents himself and knowing it's hurting him would probably even cull cat calls from Crosshairs or insults from Drift. The other bots, like Ironhide and his elders, would be working nonstop to try and find a way to help him because the idea that their youngest soldier is reduced to this would piss them off. It would be so, so unbecoming.
Knight/Rotb: By far the most helpless. The pain wouldn't bother him the least. He's survived so much and the trauma of emotional pain would harm his processor so much more. He'd be tortured by memories of, well, memory loss, actually dying, and would feel like an absolute failure while he's on his knees. It would probably break him if not fixed within a certain timeframe. As he'd feel his failures piling and piling enough to completely drown him. Autonomy is something he treasures and to not have it would wreck him inside.
Animated: The most indignant by far. He's been through enough humiliation but he'd be more upset by the shocks and burns from not going with the code when he actually wants to work with it.
He's not exactly prideful of his looks, arrogant but not totally vain. He'd probably be flattered by any reciprocation he got servicing his master in a 'oh is that really how he feels?' way. Autobot society in Animated is so FUCKED the mere idea of slave coding would probably seem like a 'yeah, duh' thing to him.
Ratchet knew how to lobotomize OP and he offered it like a baggie of weed. He wouldn't be horrified, more than anything, he'd be annoyed that they can't just cure him because he's bored, he wants to go out, and would roll with the code to wiggle his way into just lounging. But he'd likely stay far away from Sari as he'd care enough to not want her to see something she's not ready for.
I think he would be more than glad if OP was holding his leash. Because he trusts him, and knows he would feel bad about using him. Not to say the others would- but his relationship with OP is so close. He'd trust his judgement and care.
Prime: Mind broken on first contact. Would refuse to see the kids. Would detest himself despite knowing it's not his own processor. Embarassed, uncomfortable, sick to his tanks with having everyone see him begging for his master. Since he cannot talk, it makes it even worse because he can't communicate with nuance or express himself to his fullest.
Wouldn't be able to look Bulkhead or Arcee in the optic. Would probably retreat to Ratchet despite the code forcing him to remain with his master because Ratchet would actually nonstop work to fix him. But OP's gaze would probably make him vomit if he had the capability. He loves OP to literal death. Would die for him again and again. This not how he wants to be seen. And it would rip at his core to an endless depression. The code would likely be the closest to killing him because he'd fight and fight and fight and fight.
IDW: Would enjoy it the most. He's been put through it, and not once earned anyone's complete respect. He's been in positions where nothing he does is the right call. Having that control taken from him would be such a selfish relief. He no longer has to think, just accept he's owned and be glad he'll always have someone to take care of him. He'd be heartbroken it had to end like this, but even if he got cured, he'd probably miss the nonstop physical touch and love. So much of IDW is just Bumblebee going out on his own, fucking up, and having to suffer. None of that. He can just lie back and be adored by someone who wont ever leave him. The war took a toll on him the most, as seen by his anger issues close to Dark Cybertron and how happy he was having Starscream with him for eternity. That bot was mind broken and just accepted he was never winning shit.
RiD: Rolling with it. Would still try to do his job but knows he's going to have to sit through it. He wants to help his team, and stay in control, but he's by far one of more logical iterations.
The actual slave coding episode (wew I can't believe I can actually say that.) shows that they for the most part do not have an override. Sucks, but they gotta endure. If he can think for himself in any capacity he'd just rather be fixed while putting out enough for the code to leave him be. It'd be exasperating, but RiD Bee cannot fathom embarrassment anymore. He's too tired.
Rescue Bots: The most logical and most willing to stay in a room with his master and let it work itself out. He'd have enough sense to keep the kids out of it. Wouldn't talk to Cody, wouldn't let Wedge near him. He understands what it's like to look up to someone besides literal looking up, and would keep things quiet with Doc Green and Ratchet or Perceptor. It wouldn't be a problem so much as an understanding he'd have a lot of apologizing to do.
One: Crippling lonliness but he has incredible survival instinct. He'd want to learn the rules, may get zapped, but he is exceedingly subservient to preserve himself. He wouldn't like it, but he knows how to keep quiet when he's in actual danger. The meeting with the high guard isn't a situation to be afraid of, as he knew them as protectors. They weren't bad, they were just gone. It was like meeting a crew of his heroes vs Sentinel and how he told D-16 to stay down.
He would.
He'd sit, and stay, and kneel, and do everything to survive. It wouldn't hurt him outside of a misunderstanding of orders or conflicting orders. OP owning him would be a relief because he likes OP a lot. He's only been around him for a short time and knows he's in good hands. He'd mostly be upset that he has to do things the code's way not his way.
Earthspark: He is not happy. He finally can get some adult attention and spend time with bots his age, and he's got to be demure and not tell jokes or just chat.
He wanted to get away from the Terrans and raising kids that were not his so badly and now he's got to spend his days in silence, doing what his master wants. And Optimus, if given the controls, would not be a good one. Nobody would.
Megatron would be too uncomfortable and end up hurting him. Elita would accidentally get him severely injured by trying not to mess with the code and have him feeling neglected. Arcee might actually kill him with her misplaced good will. But Optimus I feel would use the code in private in a way that makes Bee feel sick inside. ES OP is fake. Fake smiles, fake care and is fine using people. He doesn't view the cons as equals and agrees to their horrendous mistreatment.
He'd keep Bee in a room, fill the requirements for the next day, and leave him there.
OP could leave feeling serviced and relaxed and Bumblebee would be missing his itchy barn bed with all the aching in his spark. Even if he was allowed to stay by OP's side, there would be such a lack of emotional support that he'd contemplate walking into the ocean and just staying there until he rusted horn to metal toe.
WFC Trilogy: What slave coding, he is going with it all in. He met Alpha Trion for literally less than 3 seconds and was willing to stay by OP like his autonomy didn't matter. There are no problems, he's just going to stay in his master's lap and as long as he doesn't need to bow it'd be as natural as transforming.
Cyberworld: Energon is Energon. He'd get shocked internally a lot but as long as he's taken care of, he can deal. He wants OP to look at him, to keep him close, and to do things that benefit them both. As long as they can keep winning Energon together then he will be ok. He was happy getting praises from Megatron, the idea of being doted on would just be another bonus. Elita might keep her distance but she'd likely accept it and help him. She's seen messed up types of games and what bots can do to each other while figuring out how their loss of autonomy works.
It's fine.
Does not matter which one, I just want him to constantly be embarrassed at how he has no control over his body and appalled at how he speaks to his friends.
Working SO hard to get to where he is, seen as a fighter more than a minibot to get sheltered, only to risk melting his insides if he doesn't ask master what he wishes or dares to put his wants before his masters needs.
