Stolas Is Like A Furry Version Of Richard De Longpre From Allen Gregory
If anyone remembers Allen Gregory, they would remember the character of Richard De Longpre. He's the father of the titular Allen Gregory. For one thing, he's an egotistical gay man who is portrayed as funny despite being an obnoxious, cruel, and entitled pos. He also treats his partner badly and forces him into a relationship despite his reluctance. He's a racist pos who sees people of lower class as under him and neglects his daughter. Does that sound familiar? Because if it does then Richard and Stolas are two peas in a pod. Richard in his series at least has the narrative know he's shitty, but still play him for very dark laughs (even if the stuff he does is too messed up to play as a joke).
While at first they played Stolas' actions for dark laughs, they try to go out of their way to make us side with him as if he's the biggest victim of society, even when it's obvious he's an abusive pos who deserves little pity. As said before, they are both abusive partners who treat the ones they are with like shit. Even though both shows are supposed to be LGBT friendly, the show the gay main featured character as a predator who uses his power to force a relationship on a lower class man to be his pet. For Jeremy, Richard made him leave his original family and forced him to be his trophy husband despite being straight. Stolas forces Blitzo to fuck him in order to keep the book and he often doesn't enjoy it. And again both are terrible manchildren who are even worse parents who neglect their children because they can't get over themselves. Worst part is both get away with their actions because of favoritism.
