Sadly, a very common thing in the trans non-binary community that is said to us by family are these statements. Your trans/non-binary child, sibling, parent, etc., have always been who they are. I know there are trans and non-binary people who do feel different on that subject. I know some people feel the gender they had to survive in for so long does die to them personally. A lot of folx ask me why I am running for International Ms Leather; I am running because I know that I can be a positive role model for non-binary inclusion in our communities. I have been let down more than once by this community that I call home. But as a Random friend told me, ohana means no one gets left behind or forgotten.
