Our muses are on a long, late night road trip together, while mine is driving. Send a ※ to hear what mine would say to yours, only after they were fast asleep in the passenger seat.

Six months. Jaxson and Carson have been in Appledale for six whole months and nothing has happened. Well, that’s and understatement, a lot has happened but nothing having to do with their arrangements and whether or not the government was going to go forward with the weddings. Jaxson hopes it keeps going on like this, that they can pretend that there will be no marriages that he can be with Carson for a long time to come, for at least just a while longer. It’s just – he loves Carson, he loves him so much to the point even he has to sit down and think about how he got here. Not even seventh months ago did he think he’d love someone so unconditionally that he’d do just about anything for them because seven months ago Jaxson was probably getting shitfaced without a care in the world and waking up without a massive hangover before texting Josh where the next party was and if the gang was going. But ever since coming to Appledale he’s developed in more ways than one. For starters, he had been on his own, by himself without Andrew to lead the way as usual, or Josh to crack up jokes, or James to make light of everything and roll his eyes or Ella to just talk to. All of them had arrived on their own not knowing what to expect besides being thrown into marriage with their opposite whatever the hell that meant because it’s a load of bullshit. But honestly, he’s glad this happened in the sense that he got to meet Carson who’s sitting in the passenger side right now next to him about to completely pass out. They were going back from the music festival the curly haired boy took him to and it’s been a rather long weekend and it was time to go home. Jaxson frowned. Home. What even was home? Carson and Jaxson lived in two completely different houses with two completely different people and sure they had sleepovers but it’s not the same as to waking up next to each other everyday. He knows it isn’t a possibility, him and Carson can’t have that and…he doesn’t even know if Carson would want that. He heard the younger boy shift around and he said it before he could think about it, keeping his eyes on the road, “If we had a chance, if–if there was a possibility do you think we could ever get a place together?” He didn’t look over at him, at least not right away. “If we had a chance to leave, would you leave with me?” It was a silly question, they both know the answer. Jaxson would go anywhere with him, whether it’s to California, or Florida, New York, or all the way across seas to Venice, Italy. Jaxson would do it, in a heartbeat. “Because I would, you know? I’d leave with you wherever you wanted to go. Shit, Curly, I’d go to Antarctica with you if you asked.” He wasn’t getting a response and he furrowed his eyebrows, glancing over at the boy next to him and oh, he’s fast asleep. His feautures softened at the sight, of course he was asleep it was almost midnight and it was a very eventful day it being the last day of the festival and all. He looks so calm when he’s asleep, blissful even and Jaxson reached out to move his fringe aside a bit. It still pains him sometimes to know some of the things he’s been through and it just makes wish even more that they could start somewhere new, that they could run away and make the very best of it they can. “I love you.” he mumbled, eyes back on the road once again. He was doing to much wishful thinking because Jaxson knows he can’t offer Carson anything outside of this town “I’m sorry.” he finally said in a hushed voice, “I don’t know exactly what I’m sorry for because I’m not sorry for loving you nor am I sorry for everything that we’ve done I’m just – I’m sorry for what could happen…what will happen.” Jaxson doesn’t know why he’s saying this, he just needs to get it out. “It’s been six months, Car. Six. And I dunno about you but I feel like it’s going –” to come to an end soon? That someone is going to get in the way? Correction, not someone a lot of someones. “Point is, I love you and I don’t even know how the fuck that happened but it’s true.” He laughed under his breath, shaking his head because before Carson, he was supposedly straight as a ruler but something about the green-eyed boy just made his knees weak and his chest flutter. “And I’d go anywhere with you, I’d take you anywhere you wanted to go. Japan, Greece, Italy, Brazil, England, New York, anywhere because I don’t want to be without you.” He licked his lips, “From that moment I kissed you that one night we first built a fort I knew that it was going to be you -- well, I didn’t know it right away because I ran away like the dumbass that I am but I never told you that I spent all night and the days after thinking about it and what it meant and what it caused me to kiss you again that day after you picked me up from the hospital. It’s hard to explain it, I don’t even know how I fell in love you because there was no inbetween for me; I went from seeing you as a potential best friend to basically the love of my life.” He chuckled, he feels incredibly sappy but, “I don’t think I went through the crush phase, it was probably that same day of the fort that I realized I wanted to kiss you again and from there we started being...you and me.” It’s always been Jaxson and Carson or Carson and Jaxson; they were a package deak, there wasn’t a moment where they haven’t been together. “And now, well it’s almost a new year and I don’t know what this silence means and you probably know what I’m talking about because they haven’t done anything. At least not yet.” God he doesn't even know where he’s going with this anymore, he’s tired and it’s late and he just wants to crawl into bed, preferably next to Carson. Jaxson took a deep breath, “I guess what I’m trying to say is that I love you, I’ll always love you and it’ll always be you even when it doesn’t seem like it anymore. It’s gonna be you, Carson.” He left it at that and opened the window just a little to let the cool wind carry out his words that fell upon deaf ears. It was probably for the best.
