Hey everyone!

I discovered that my current Fats Waller phase is getting worse by the day. This is because of several reasons. I got a few more tracks, my favorite amongst them being this rendition of Rude Bloom's "Truckin'" which is a wonderful, light, swinging tune that I can tap my feet to as I walk home from school. I've been doing that for the majority of this week when I wasn't mercilessly rained on by pellets of water from the sky.

Speaking of Fats Waller, I wanted to let everyone know that I have fully memorized Alligator Crawl in a matter of 3 weeks. I should have a recording up soon, along with Fingerbuster, Elite Syncopations and maybe Elite Syncopations.

I'm also working on a stride version of "I Wanna Be Like You", the hit swing tune from Disney's "The Jungle Book" from 1967. It's true, Disney knows good music. You can find the song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOcyYyxqN_g

Oh, apparently, the orangutan that sings in this scene is a parody on Louis Prima, who is a Jazz singer. I know he wrote Sing, Sing, Sing, but that's about it.

I'm also working (however shamefully) on an arrangement of the endearing theme from Super Mario Brothers. It's an interesting 4/4 song that is easy to stride and improvise on, so I'm writing my own arrangement to play whenever the fancy strikes me.

It's getting late as I got home from fellowship a little later than predicted, so I have to regrettably cut this entry short.
