I wanted to make a text post about it but I don't have a voice and my texts posts get no notes...but I just wanted to point out when they were shooting the music video for ME! and taylor was doing the choreography for the suit portion of it...how small, and insecure, and unsure of herself she looked? It just really struck a chord, because we often don't see her that way very often. Unsure, small. (cont)
(cont) And the backtrack saying that she knows there's a better version of herself out there (which makes me even more appreciative of the song ME!) it honestly broke my heart but was comforting because I (along with my best friend) have been feeling that way lately. And you can list her accomplishments over and over but even Taylor Swift...10 times grammy award winner and artist of the DECADE, feels (and looks) small. Just my cents. I agree with you! it’s this sort of defense mechanism i think. I actually do the same thing. It’s kinda like, if you make a joke out of it yourself then they can’t laugh at you because you’re quicker. I think something like that is deeply ingrained and hard to get out of .... but it’s a process and i feel like taylor is getting there and she started by releasing me!. and also that moment is definitely a reminder to all of us that taylor is also just human like all of us and is also insecure....i think the documentary overall did a very good job at that!
