🌷🌾 March Recap 🌾🌷
Here are some of my favorite things from the month of March!!
Movie: I have seen too many edits of Uptown Girls to not have it on my watchlist. As someone who was a hypervigilant girl who grew into a childish transmasc adult, this movie knocked the wind out of me. Yes, it was a buddy comedy but it also stared straight into my soul. It reminded me that it's okay to feel like a child in a clumsy adult body.
Fragrance: I knew that the new Alloy Studio scents were going to blow me away. Faux is the perfect addition to my spring fragrance rotation. It's a fuzzy, snappy peach skin with a the powdery sweetness of incense and makeup lingering on a faux fur coat. It's stunning. Like all of their scents it isn't only a scent experience, it creates a cohesive, atmospheric image.
Song: Noah Kahan finally dropped Porch Light!! I liked that it felt a bit different from his other songs stylistically, but is also clearly a work of his. There is something so guttural and raw about his music that I found comforting this past month.
Hobby: Y'all already know I've been banging out prints for my Etsy shop! I FINALLY found all of my old blocks from school. While I could print using a press of some kind, I have always enjoyed the physical component of printing. There's a cathartic element. Bilateral stimulation of the brain and all that.
Aesthetically I also prefer each of my prints to be a little unique. Yes, they may come from the same block, but the ink will sit how it sits. I enjoy confronting my perfectionism through an art form that can be perfected. I want it the human element of my prints to be glaringly obvious.
