fingernails are CLOGGED with dirt, and SWEARS she’s not a monster. but she’d like to kill something. to avenge her dying soul and feel pain. maybe for  someone to try and hurt her. honestly, she’t not a monster B U T you might want to keep a  shotgun under your bed.

Ashley sighed, emotionally drained. Crying was really something that could take the life out of a person. It was really energy-draining. 

“You wanna watch a movie or something?” the redhead asked. She wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep and needed a distraction.

 ▓ ╳ ▓   Merely nodding, he fixed his blank eyes forward, as if he were already watching something on the black screen. Mike didn’t particularly want to do anything, but he could settle for staring at something mind numbing for a few hours.

              He wanted to ask her to turn up the volume so he didn’t have to think, but that might stress her out more, and the last thing they needed was another wave of crying. ▓ ╳ ▓

“Never really hung out with her much outside of the group. She’s deadly smart, like Em, but is way softer. She’s got a sharp wit most of the time, bar when she’d stressed or upset. I try to stay away from her when she’s like that.

I don’t know, I guess everyone got closer to each other after Blackwood. It’s easier being around her. She’s easy to connect to. Much more friendly company than some of the others at least. Ashley just has this presence, like she just has to be in a room with you and you feel less alone.”

“Glad you could make it,” Brooke said to Ashley, extending her hand. “I know it’s not ideal, but I figured we’d do something.” It was a wake for the friends the two had lost, the ones Ash had lost on the mountain, and the ones Brooke had lost in the storm. Almost two whole towns had shown up. Brooke was impressed with the turnout.

“Oh, and one night only, the bartender isn’t checking ID’s.” She smiled softly and patted Ash on the back. “I don’t know about you, but I could use a drink.
