Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis
The Northern Lights are collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere. ‘Aurora borealis’ and ‘Aurora australis’ are seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres, respectively. They appear in many shades of red, yellow, green, blue, and violet, although pale green and pink are the most common.
