Hwang Hyunjin says he loves you too quickly, in his opinion. It’s a couple dates in (he’s not really keeping track) and he blurts under the yellow streetlamp that he loves you, and that it’s gonna be a mistake because he didn’t mean it. You laugh, brushing off his words and kissing him softly before going back into your apartment because Hwang Hyunjin didn’t mean ‘i love you.’ Because you’d be a fool if you believed he did, because there's just no way someone like him wants to be with you.
But a couple more dates pass by and he says it again, to which he really does mean it and you can’t laugh it off anymore because you feel the same. Because you love Hwang Hyunjin as much as he does and it’s scary how fast you fell.
He’s just so dreamy, you chalk it up to his squeaky laugh and pretty warm eyes.
Nope- it’s not the way he comes over at your beck and call because you’re lonely and there’s enough room for two. Or the way he brings you meals with the intention of shoving home cooking down your throat. ‘We can’t have you starve,’ Hyunjin jokes, wiping some of the sauce off the corner of your lip with careful swipes.
Hwang Hyunjin also thinks about you too often. He lays awake at night, staring at non-existing images in the ceiling as he fantasizes about holding your hand, his thumb rubbing soothingly over your knuckles as you sleep, brushing the hair out of your eyes and pressing his lips gently on your forehead, whispering little affirmations of love in your skin.
And Hyunjin thinks that no, maybe he didn’t fall in love with you too fast.
He finds that you’re just so easy to love, so easy to be with that his heart flutters every time he lays eyes on you. You’re perfect to him, you always have been, from the moment he returned your notes in the library to when he linked fingers and walked back to his home with you.
And lastly, Hwang Hyunjin says he loves you a lot, and he’s always meant it. From the first time under the yellow streetlight, to when he’s down on one knee and asking you to be his, with all the stars in his eyes and the widest grin on his lips.
Because Hwang Hyunjin loves you. So very much.
