Kit grew up in a small, working-class town nestled in the rolling hills of Massachusetts. The town was a tight-knit community with a rich history and a strong sense of tradition. Kit's childhood home was a modest, single-story house situated on a small plot of land. The house was painted a faded blue with peeling trim, and had a narrow front porch with a rickety old swing.
Inside, the house was cramped and cluttered, with worn furnishings and a cramped kitchen. The family often had to stretch their budget to make ends meet, and Kit and his brother shared a small bedroom with bunk beds and a shared dresser.
I like to imagine that Kit has a younger brother. Perhaps his brother's name could be derived from Bobby or Billy, Billy Walker.
Kit was likely responsible and mature for his age, and he may have taken on a role as a mentor or role model for his younger brother. It is also possible that he had a playful and lighthearted relationship with Billy, enjoying activities and hobbies together and making lasting memories.
He was also very curious, always eager to explore and try new things.
Kit and his brother were playing in the backyard, chasing each other around and pretending to be superheroes. As the older of the two, Kit took on the role of leader and was always coming up with new ideas for their imaginary adventures.
"Come on, let's go fight the giant robot!" Kit exclaimed, brandishing a stick as his "sword."
His brother giggled and ran after him, trying to keep up. "I'm the sidekick, right?" he asked, panting a little.
Kit grinned and ruffled his brother's hair. "Yeah, you're my trusty sidekick. Together, we can take on anything!"
The two boys spent the afternoon running around the yard, fighting imaginary villains and saving the day. They laughed and played together, completely absorbed in their make-believe world.
As the sun began to set, Kit's mother called them in for dinner. "Boys, time to come inside now," she called from the back porch.
Kit and his brother reluctantly stopped playing and headed towards the house. "We'll have to continue the adventure tomorrow," Kit told his brother with a wink.
His brother nodded eagerly. "Definitely. We'll make sure to defeat the robot for good next time!"
As they walked into the house, Kit put his arm around his brother's shoulders and gave him a squeeze. Despite their occasional differences, he loved his brother deeply and always enjoyed spending time with him.
Kit grew up in a traditional household where his father was the breadwinner and his mother stayed at home to take care of the children and run the household. From a young age, Kit's father instilled in him the importance of hard work and responsibility and taught him that men were responsible for providing for their families.
"Son, a man's role is to be the provider and protector for his family," his father would often say. "It's up to us to bring home the bacon and make sure our loved ones are taken care of."
Kit's mother, while supportive of her husband and his beliefs, often tried to gently challenge some of these traditional gender roles and encourage her children to pursue their own dreams and passions.
"Kit, you can be anything you want to be," she would say. "Don't let anyone tell you what you can or can't do based on who you are."
Despite these conflicting messages, Kit learned to balance his desire to make his family proud with his own personal goals and aspirations. He worked hard in school and excelled in sports (mainly basketball and football), and eventually worked various odd jobs to make ends meet.
He also followed his heart and pursued his love of music, often playing the guitar and singing with his friends in his spare time.
I feel like Kit met Alma at the gas station where he worked, and they quickly fell in love with each other despite the illegality of interracial marriage.
Kit was always determined to create a better life for himself and his future family, and he never let the prejudice of others get him down.
We don't hear about Kit's parents in the show, so you'd think that it was because of her relationship that her parents cut ties, knowing the atmosphere of the 60s.
Kit sat nervously at the kitchen table, fidgeting with his hands as his parents glared at him from across the room. He had just broken the news to them that he was planning to marry Alma, and the reaction had not been what he had hoped for.
"Kit, how could you do this to us?" his mother exclaimed, her voice shaking with anger. "You know how we feel about this. It's not right, and it's not what we want for you."
Kit sighed and tried to keep his voice calm. "Mom, I know you have your doubts, but Alma is the most amazing person I've ever met. I love her, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
His father crossed his arms and shook his head. "Love doesn't conquer all, son. You're making a big mistake, and you're going to regret it."
Kit stood up, his frustration and hurt starting to boil over. "I'm not making a mistake. I know what I want, and I'm not going to let anyone, not even you, stand in my way."
There was a tense silence as the three of them stared at each other, unsure of what to say next.
Kit's father stood up and looked at him with a stern expression. "Son, if you go through with this wedding, you'll no longer be a member of this family. You'll be disowned, and you'll have to leave this house and never come back."
Kit's heart sank as he realized the gravity of his father's words. He had always known that his parents were opposed to his relationship with Alma, but he had never imagined it would come to this.
"Dad, please don't do this," he pleaded, his voice shaking with emotion. "I love you and Mom, but I also love Alma. I can't choose between the two of you."
His father's face softened a little, and he let out a heavy sigh. "I understand that, son. But this is how it has to be. You have a choice to make, and I hope you'll choose wisely."
We all know what choice Kit made. I think he would have stayed in touch with his brother, maybe Billy would have left Massachusetts to make a life elsewhere. He could send him a postcard every year for Christmas.
