Good Ending Almandine
This is just a little something for @el10t1n4 . Consider it a quick 'thank you' for this absolutely stunning gift, as well as other sketches I've been given. As for the oc itself, meet Almandine! She's just a silly girl doing silly girly things, such as pretending to be taller and shattering her canonical murderers :D

This week's Member Box spotlight: Almandine Garnet -- the deep-red garnet most people picture when they hear "garnet.Fe3Al2(SiO4)3, a magnesium-free iron end-member of the pyralspite garnet series. This raw cluster comes from a schist host rock in Fujian Province, China. The crystals form classic rhombic dodecahedra (12- Chemical formula faced), sometimes modified by trapezohedra (24 faces) -- the most recognizable geometry in the mineral kingdom.
Member Box notes:
Formed under high pressure and temperature in metamorphic rock
- Mohs hardness 7.5 -- tough enough for industrial abrasive (sandpaper garnet!)
- Red color comes from ferrous iron substituting into the octahedral sites
- Distinguishes between almandine vs pyrope vs spessartine by exact iron/aluminum balance
- A classic starter stone for crystal system studies -- isometric, perfect symmetry
Fun geology fact: garnet-bearing schist is a pressure-temperature indicator. If you find crystals like these in the field, you know you're standing on rocks that were once buried 10 to 30 km deep. That's how old, dense collisional mountain belts become accessible at the surface.

Almandine
Almandine is a deep red gemstone and is in the garnet family of gems. It is said to be the most common type of garnet as well as one of the most well known. It has been used throughout centuries even going as far back as 3,500 BCE ancient Egypt and used in jewellery. Having a hardness of 7-7.5 this gem can be used in jewellery and is quite durable. Garnets including almandine can be colour-changing and display asterism with the first being more rare in this specific type of garnet and the second while still being rare, is a bit more common and is gorgeous. Garnets are not pure gems, not just consisting of one gem and always has some kind of bled with another. Rhodolite, Mozambique garnet and Malaya (or Malaia) garnets are more types of garnets which are blends of other ones such as almandine, pyrope, spessartite and more blends. That is to be further covered another time when other garnets have their pages. It is found and mined all across the globe with maps of localities putting the most mines between Germany and Romania as well as washington up to new york. It’s name has two said origins, with the name Almandine being derived from the Latin word almandinus which signifies noble or of high birth (the direct translation of the latin word almandinus on most translators shows it to mean “almandine”, google translate is the only site that translated it to mean “germanic”). And has origin in being named after the city of Alabanda in Asia Minor (Modern Turkey). Translation and origins of it’s name differ from source to source with no firm/official answer. Almandine symbolises passion, love, and courage. It is heavily associated with the base and root “chakras”/energy sources.
Asterism and colour-change garnet are shown in the images above
This information is not my own nor are the images, I am not an expert. It was all found from various websites. If this actually gets seen feel free to ask for the websites I use and I will comment all the links. Please let me know if any information is incorrect and provide links to resources if possible :)
LAST PRE WRITTN POST :D
Which means I'll have to start writing them again T-T
It may take longer for these to be posted now that I'm writing them again at the same time as well as the quality of writing possibly changing since it's been awhile, and honestly I'm terrible at writing and checking my own work over. Thanks to everyone who has supported this blog so far!
