I swear I'm trying, really, I'm trying so so SO FUCKING hard to not have much hope about The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 'cause dammit this feels like Almost Human all over again - the queerness®, the interracial, the Old Grumpy Disabled Soldier VS the Young Bratty Mouthy Partner, the Starsky & Hutch vibes, the FEELS, THE POTENTIAL - and I can't, I just can't deal again with the frustration if they fuck up another show with these premises.

at work today I got to thinking about Almost Human again (because I turned on the tv and ‘I, Robot’ was on) 

like. what if at some point when Kennex is forced to retire/otherwise leave the force or something happens to Dorian to where he’s threatened with decomission, Kennex just... petitions to have Dorian as his “therapy bot” instead. like a therapy dog? Kennex is technically disabled, and has PTSD and a few other things which I can’t explicitly remember off the top of my head at the moment. surely the designation exists among some kind of robot in the Almost Human universe at that point. 

do any fics like this exist anywhere yet? or at least have some similar idea? I haven’t looked at the Almost Human tag of AO3 in so long.
