A Powerful in Depth look into a Powerful track
This episode of podcast “Sound Exploder” is about the Lin-Manuel Miranda song “Almost Like Praying” (FEAT. Artists for Puerto Rico) that was written about the terrible hurricane that leveled Puerto Rico over the summer. He wrote the song to both reflect his feeling of the tragedy and to raise money to help hurricane relief. It follows the writing process that Miranda started with in his hotel bathroom all the way to gathering artists to sing on the track. It is interesting to hear the inspiration behind the track and how he decided on all of the sounds on the track. It is a very inspiring look into a song that has such a powerful effect on the public and the outpouring of support for those affected by hurricane. Even if you do not have the time please follow the link and listen to this mini documentary on the Sound Exploder website.
