Where does the idea that Artemis helped Hermes rescue Ares from the jar in which the Aloadai imprisoned him come from? Does anyone know? Is it simply based on the summary in Apollodoros' Library where the details of Hermes secretly snatching Ares away and Artemis tricking the Aloadai into killing each other are related one after another or is there some other source that makes Artemis' involvement in the rescue mission explicit?

As if there is not enough evidence that Adonis was loved by (almost) everyone who knew him, according to a scholion on the Iliad Ares was captured and imprisoned in the bronze jar by the Aloadai in revenge for his murder of Adonis.

I wonder what the source for the idea that Ares was a child when the Aloadai captured him is. So far I haven't been able to find any that specify or even imply his age when that happened.
