If I were trying to get into digital art how would you suggest doing so?

Hello! Here’s the essentials:

1. Get yourself a tablet if you don’t own one already! If you’re sans-tablet and are new to the whole drawing tablet process, don’t worry about shelling out big bucks for a huge fancy Wacom just yet. You could start with a Huion 420, or even a Wacom Bamboo. 2. Download some free drawing software to get the hang of things!Don’t just throw hundreds of dollars at some software that you see other artists creating beautiful artwork in. Start small with some free programs to practice with at first. Free drawing software is usually more user friendly, and most software programs operate moderately the same way (i.e. you’ll learn about layers, brushes, what tools do, basic terminology etc). Here’s a list to help:GimpKritaInkscape (this is for vector drawing, but try it out! You might find vector fits your style better, and if not… its free)3. Get ready to spend a lot of time practicing where you aren’t creating artwork! Sounds silly I know, but its a large part of it. I can’t tell you how many artists I’ve known that get discouraged and give up with digital art because at the beginning its VERY time consuming with little to no results. Just be patient, and give yourself plenty of time to experiment. Watching tutorials online will help out a lot as well!4. If you’re more comfortable with real media, feel free to combine the two!If you feel more comfortable doing your sketches on paper, go for it! If the camera on your phone is pretty good, put it to use! You can easily take sketches, and value drawings into an art program and use those to get the hang of things.

And! Here’s a few helpful tips!-Get in the hang of locking your layers!!!!!!!-Learn how to adjust brush settings to fit your needs-Learn layer properties/settings earlyAnd that’s all I got. Hope it helps! If anyone else has more tips feel free to add!

“Shattered Beginnings” Part 1

“See...?” Dick started, pulling his mask off and dropping it to the table that had been lined with gratuitous amounts of elaborately wrapped packages, all with your name on them. “I told you this birthday thing wasn’t so bad.”

“This is a surprise party.” You breathed back, taking a step closer to Dick only to have him coil an easy grip above your elbow and give you a light shove toward your friends, encouraging you to move forward. Jerking your head in his direction, you puckered your brow and grinded out, “You told me we were heading to Bludhaven for a recon mission.”

“I know you said you don’t really do birthdays but... We care about you.” Came his honesty as he tipped toward you and lowered his voice to a whisper, his lips barely touching against the shell of your ear. “It’s one thing to not care about your birthday, but its another obstacle all together when your suppressing bad memories.”

“Dick, I told you I didn’t want-”

“Hey...” Came a sharp bite from somewhere nearby, causing both you and Dick to jerk your stares to the person who’d quietly sidled up...

Arms crossed and brows fastened, Damien Wayne flicked his gaze back and forth between you and Dick before finally asking, “It’s your birthday, right?”

“Yeah...” You responded slowly, watching as he held his arms out and narrowed his pretty green eyes into a glare; his fingers waggling to encourage you to step into the embrace he was offering.

“You’ve got two seconds...”

With an unstoppable smile now permeating your features, you all but flew into him and wrapped your arms around his shoulders before squeezing him and nuzzling against his hairline... No, you didn’t typically cerebrate your birthday, but somewhere between the surprise party you didn’t ask for and hugging the gruff and grumpy Wayne kid who had a no-touch rule, adorable as he was, you couldn’t complain. Dick probably shouldn’t have pulled this whole thing together without your permission, especially after you explicitly told him to drop the entire thing and move on, but with Bruce, Alfred, Barbara, Tim, Koriand'r, Clark, Diana, Barry Allen and his speed team, and even John Constantine smiling and waiting for you to join the party, you were beginning to see that this was healthy... Being surrounded by people you cared about was a good way to spend your birthday.

It wasn’t until you heard Damian growl under his breath that you realized your two seconds were up... Quickly backing away and muttering an apology, you shot a smile over your shoulder to see Dick watching you with a grin; his arms crossed over his broad chest and his blue eyes fastened to you.

“I know what you told me...” He said, still smiling. “And if you want, we can walk out right now... But there’s cake and presents and I know for a fact that Barry’s been missing you ever since your team-up last summer.”

Now beaming, you wrapped your hand around Dick’s forearm and shoved yourself onto your tip-toes before pecking him on the jaw and whispering, “Thank you.”

“Happy Birthday, pretty girl.”

*Imagine Dick Trying to Make Your Birthday Extra Special by Throwing You a Party*

@alohalisha: Reader doesn't have good memories of her birthday(I.e. Heartbreak, parental issues, etc) so she just stopped celebrating it a long time ago. Dick knows it's her birthday and wants to make it special so he invites only the people close to her and the Batfam and it's super fluffy and Damien even let's her hug him cuz she's all emotional and it's just super fluffy and it's generally dick x reader. Sorry it's long!

I constantly suffer from Atelophobia. I used to get bullied all the time in school, so bad I had to transfer. It's better now but I feel like sometimes I'm trying to hard or not enough. I don't know what to do because all I know is I never want to be alone. Is there any advice you have for a suffering soul like me?

I am so so so so sorry you feel this way, honey.

Also, fuck those people who bullied you. You are so much better than then, you have no idea how much special you are. 

Look, whenever I feel like I’m a failure or that I’m not good enough or that I’m not trying hard enough (and it’s been happening a lot lately), I talk to my friends about it. They help me to get distracted or just to make me feel better. 

But most important, you need to realize that what you’re doing is good enough. Look behind you and start noticing how much you gave. That thing you did that you thought it was worthless, is actually something amazing, just because you put your heart into it. 

Trust me, you’ll never be alone. There are a lot of people that love for who you are and that it’ll be with you whenever you go.
