Asha was still pretty confused about how the past few hours of her life had even occurred, but she figured that as long as she was still conscious and not seriously injured, she’d be okay. At least that was what she told herself. It was working, mostly.
Nonetheless, that didn’t stop her from feeling lost as she started wandering in an attempt to familiarize herself with this new sector in this new city in this new G-d-only-knows-where-it-really-is. Not to mention her chest felt tense seemingly for no reason at all. It almost left her short of breath. She wasn’t afraid of asking for directions though, not even from a boy who, to her, looked every bit like he should’ve been modeling for a junior’s clothing line or starring in an adaptation of some Victorian drama.
“Hi there,” she said casually, waving at the kid. “Do you happen to live around here? I’m kinda lost.”
