Sora had seen a lot of spectacular things in his time in this universe. Yet he never failed to be surprised with each new wonder. that included this giant, glittering palace nestled away in the mountains. The sun shone enticingly off of the crystalline towers, and the boy circled around it like a bird drawn in by a shiny coin. He tried to peer through the clearest parts of the ice like windows, turning into a lithe shadow against the ice. But he never stayed in one place for long, remaining just long enough to try to peek in, before flying to another spot and attempting the same thing.

New fur lining his shoes. Thick fabric tied around his wrists as rough mittens. A frayed scarf wrapped around the lower half of his face to keep out the wind and chill. And a long, royal purple cloak held tight around his person to keep warm. What was once the queen’s burden to cast off was now one of his saving graces. Two days after the formation of the palace, the dhampir returned to the long, grueling flight of stairs. He knocked on the giant ice doors. “Your Majesty?” He called out. “I brought food!”

I see you've decided on a wish. Yeah, I got it. What's your price?

He gasped sharply, the chilly wind biting his cheeks and nose. The white snowflakes blinded him as he clutched his parka closer. He gaped in shock at the pristine snow as his sneakers sunk, and he turned about to identify the deserted wasteland. Cold, barren, desolate. Was this some sort of joke? “How am I supposed to find a queen all the way up here?” He muttered to himself.

The dhampir forced himself to move to the edge of the precipice he was standing on to observe the scenery, his already low body temperature making him immediately shiver in the harsh climate. He really had to hand it to the witch. If nothing else, he doubted he would make it through the night. A perfect place for something like him to die.

There was a small speck on the mountainside that at first made him think his eyes were playing tricks on him. He squinted through the darkness to the level below him, his bafflement making him drop into a crouch to try to lean ever closer.
