Dalamus grimaced slightly at the pet name, but reluctantly answered, "Well, ah, I like your waist. Your hips and the curve of them." He swallowed and gave a guilty smile.

"Well, my wife, of course. If she does not slap me for it. Tortulja would certainly slap me if I kissed her lips, so I would kiss her forehead as I usually do. There seems to be no problem with that. I am.. uncomfortable mentioning a third person, however," he muttered, his ears lowering a fraction. "I do not know how E'hla would react anymore. But," he sighed, "I suppose it would be Thea, or even Sebastian."

Dalamus definitely enjoys being around Thea. One of his favorite things about their relationship is that he does not have to filter himself. He can say what he wants and what he means, because that is what Thea would do. They can tease each other, which is fun and allows Dalamus to get out any kind of pent-up frustration or upset in a kind of non-destructive way, I suppose you could say.

He is always trying to be gentle around most other friends, but he does not have to be around Thea, really. Of course, he does trust her, considering she knows of his past and has not condemned him for it. There is a special connection between them after he has turned and helped cure her, I think. That is one that makes him protective of her.

He knows not to treat her as though she is unable to fend for herself, though. And for a while, I was not entirely sure why. But I think it is because although Thea is young, she has lived on her own and fended for herself for a while. Dalamus knows what it is like, in a way, to have to be your own best friend because no one else will. And to have to take care of yourself, for the same reason. And when he was Thea's age, he would never have accepted help from anyone, and Thea's attitude leads him to believe that she is the same way.
