This can be a super fun trope! At least, it's fun when it's used at the *beginning* of Harry & Draco's relationship as way to circumvent the fact that they're enemies to begin with. Like:

But I suppose it's more commonly used with Established Relationship!Drarry, where one of them suddenly doesn't remember ever being in love and the other is devastated by the fact that the love of their life now hates them:

Ship of Theseus by GallaPlacidia (Harry forgets - although here I think the memory loss is basically permanent?)

I like these stories a lot, even though I'm not usually a fan of established!Drarry. I think it's because the memory loss lets us see them fall in love all over again, which is what I'm here for :)

There's another subset of this trope where the memory loss is localized to a single event, (usually their first time together), and this can also be done really well:
