Dearly Beloved bonus chapter 2 - Yuuri’s evil babysitter
Yuuri: 3 years old
Victor: 7 years old
When Yuuri was three years old, he was left alone for the first time in his life.
His mom and dad and Mari had to go away for something Yuuri didn’t quite understand, and he was left alone with a strange babysitter.
At least that was what his mom told him she was.
Yuuri didn’t like her.
She was talking to him very meanly, and she pushed him when he was in the way.
Luckily, Yuuri had his true mate to help cheer him up.
He knew his true mate was a boy, but he didn’t know how old he was or what his name was.
He had heard his voice once, but he didn’t understand anything. Apparently they spoke different languages.
But that didn’t matter.
Yuuri loved him anyway.
His true mate was always so kind to him, he never did anything mean or scary to him. Everything he received from his mate through their magical bond was always filled with happiness and love.
And Yuuri loved it.
Loved him.
More than anything...
“Move away, midget, the TV is mine,” Yuuri’s evil babysitter suddenly said as she threw herself on the couch and turned off his favorite show for something with people dancing to weird music.
Yuuri didn’t like it, but he didn’t want to argue with her.
He was too afraid of what she might do.
So he quietly nodded and went into his room to find something to play with.
He didn’t have a lot of toys, but he had a few treasured ones. His favorite was a teddy bear he had had his entire life. It was so soft and it had really kind eyes. It also squeaked when he hugged it.
Mari had told him that it was Teddy's way of telling him that he loved him.
And Yuuri really needed that right now.
He really missed his mom.
So Yuuri hugged his teddy, and treasured the sound that meant that he was loved.
And as he pulled away, he realized that it squeaked again.
His eyes widened in realization, as he figured out that his bear told him that he loved him, everytime Yuuri squeezed the bear’s tummy.
He smiled fondly at the silly bear.
That’s when his bedroom door was suddenly slammed open.
Yuuri backed away in fear, hugging his bear tightly to seek protection.
“What the hell is that noise?” his evil babysitter questioned as her eyes zeroed in on the bear in Yuuri’s arms.
Yuuri hugged his bear tighter, he didn’t want her to hurt it.
“Give me that,” the babysitter demanded.
Yuuri shook his head. His bear was all he had left, he couldn’t lose it.
“I said, give me that,” his babysitter repeated as she stepped forward and ripped the bear from Yuuri’s hands.
“No,” Yuuri cried. “Please give it back, I promise to be quiet.”
His babysitter snorted as she left his room with the bear in her hands.
Yuuri felt his eyes sting, and before he knew it, tears were flooding down his face.
She was going to keep his bear forever, and Yuuri could do nothing to get it back.
He was too small…
Yuuri curled in on himself and allowed his tears to be absorbed by his pants. This was so unfair.
Suddenly, Yuuri felt his mate reach out to him, and as Yuuri reached back, he received a lot of hearts and confused faces.
His mate was probably wondering why he was crying.
It was hard talking to his mate and Yuuri didn’t know how to explain it to him in pictures, but he was determined to try.
So Yuuri closed his eyes, and tried to show his teddy bear with a lot of hearts, in order to make his mate understand how much he loved it.
Then he tried to show his evil babysitter, and how she took his beloved bear, and how it made him sad.
His mate sent him back an angry face and then a lot of hearts.
It made Yuuri feel a little bit better to know that his mate was on his side.
He wondered what he would do if he was here.
Maybe he could get his bear back for him?
He wondered if his mate was brave enough for something like that… To stand up to an adult.
His mate suddenly sent him a picture of a taller girl next to a little boy with an arrow pointed to the girl and a question mark.
Was that supposed to be Mari?
Yuuri smiled to himself at the idea of Mari having long braids. She refused to let her hair get longer than to her shoulders.
But to his mate’s defense, he had never met his sister, he only knew she existed because Yuuri had told him about her many times, or at least tried. But he usually made her into a taller stick figure with a dress.
Since Mari usually wore dresses or skirts. At least for school, which is how Yuuri tried to tell himself and his sister apart when he told his mate stories about his day or other adventures.
But he was that glad his mate understood... Unless…
Unless it was a picture of his mom…
Yuuri bit his lip thoughtfully as he tried to remember if he ever managed to explain to his mate that he had an older sister.
Right before he could think about it further, his mate showed him a different picture of a tiny person speaking to a bigger person and realized that his mate wanted him to tell an adult.
But how could he explain to him that he couldn’t?
He was all alone with an evil babysitter and he had no one to help him.
“Hello? We’re home!”
Yuuri immediately recognized his sister’s voice.
They were back!
Yuuri sprung to his feet with all intentions of getting to his mom.
He was going to take his mate’s advice and tell her.
His babysitter was going to regret taking his bear…
