A chain has wandered from The Path.
Hours have been spent traversing the barren lands between Zones. The train systems no longer in working order, the tracks have long been abandoned and taken over by Secretaries. The walks were always very long and dull, the monochromatic sun beating down its heated waves upon this figure's shoulders.
The gentle crunch of pebbles and sand beneath his cleats along with the occasional clack against the wooden planks between the rails sound as he walks. Traveling from between Zone 1's separate areas was always taxing; however, the Batter did not particularly mind the drone scenery. He's walked this path many, many times before.
For once there is a gentle breeze picking up, the heat sweltering around him due to the mid-day sun being lifted enough to provide minimal comfort. Left hand reaches up to adjust the black cap on his head, shifting it so that it wiped away the sweat collecting on his forehead.
As he moves to lower his hand, dark eyes squint slightly at a vision in the distance. A mirage, perhaps? There usually wasn't any reason to wander away from the tracks. There was nothing out here but miles and miles of nothingness. However, the so-called mirage seems to be focusing on a point ahead of him on the tracks. A group of people? A singular entity? It was much too difficult to tell from this distance.
Perhaps he was hallucinating all together. Ah, that wouldn't come as a surprise at all. Still, he would have to cross paths with this cluster of unknown data either way. He continues to trek onward, black bat propped against his right shoulder as he walks.
