Biography: The Great Fear was a string of years that Rick Grimes is unable to forget in the rest of his days. Training the animals was said to be impossible and it seemed like it was for a very long time. Raising a family in those days was not only difficult, but dangerous as well. He had a wife, Lori, and a young boy, Andrew.
Rick had wanted his family to be safe, he wanted to flee to a remote area where no one would know of their existence. He wanted mankind to sort the issue themselves, and reappear once peace has been brought across the lands.
Upon fleeing, a herd had interrupted their path. A pack of Arcanine’s. His attempts to save his family were futile, as they were swift, vicious, and stronger than he could imagine. Both Lori and Andrew were taken and devoured. Knowing that it was too late, he found himself escaping, knowing that then his own survival was important.
Years have gone by, he stands by the dangers that some Pokemon’s do have. He eventually discovered the peacefulness that water Pokemon’s posses. He may have a certain dislike towards fire-based Pokemon’s, claiming that they are still perhaps too dangerous, even for today’s standards. Believing that fire is an element that is not easily controlled, thus neither are the Pokemon’s.
With his new found love for water-based Pokemon’s, he begun training them, learning of their behaviors, and moves. As time went on, he eventually opened a Water Gym within the city of Chicago, wanting to train people in the knowledge of water-based Pokemon. Wanting them to learn not only their powers but having them learn to respect these creatures as individuals. Urging these people to understand that each Pokemon has their own personality.
