“Mask On/Mask Off” The spectrum of approaches to this post-pandemic new normal continues to become more and more apparent as the Fed and States go head to head in a way that seems increasingly about the feelings of individual governors and @realdonaldtrump , of course, as so much remains unknown and most of the social distancing procedures fall under the banner of “best practices.” @andrewcuomo this week let loose on how irresponsible he sees Trump’s approach and the president and media we’re all to happy to have a personified target to his never ending list of enemies. In the meantime Florida took the opposite approach, being quick to open beaches and intent on getting small businesses back open, come what may. As I feared I remain caught in the middle (not in that I’d ever what to be a member of A club with Trump at its helm that would have me for a member), but in as far as the increased statewide restrictions here in PA, have lead to heavy policing and the use of force for those who aren’t compliant with mask wearing, etc. I still can’t help but feel repressed and wary with the heavy handed pressure that have been borne of this moment. As an essential worker I remain to the highest degree possible empathetic, wearing the required mask and gloves, keeping distance, and the like. Still as I feared those who haven’t risen to the occasion (the vast majority, in fairness) maintain a “cleanlier than thou” air that I find dangerous and question. I’ll continue to my best to follow the rules as I know I have increased responsibility in my position. As for my skepticism at the dangers and wrought of a conformist culture, all I can say is #somebodystopme 👺 😷 👺 😷 👺 😷 👺 #pandemiclife #themask #alrightythen #essentialworkers #opinionart #socialdistancing #coronafeelings #jimcarrey #illustration #digitalcollage #sixfeetapart #editorialillustration #mycorona #mixedfeelings #frontline #adineroillustration https://www.instagram.com/p/B_NbOumpbK5/?igshid=1g98mcwtdvbig
