I poured a lot of very cold water on my head for this (and flooded my entire, very tiny, bathroom). Go donate!
My ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video. I know I'm super late to this party, but it's still better than not doing it at all. Thanks to your feedback, I donated to the following charities:
ALS Association
Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (as suggested by fondafeeling)
Southern Poverty Law Center (as suggested by petpluto)
Black & Pink (as suggested by echoboots)
P.S.: There's a reason I stay away from this side of the camera. I can handle talking, but I look SO AWKWARD. Now excuse me while I never watch this video again
PLEASE SHARE!
Check it out, both Tom Foster and Douglas Foster got called out for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! Now, our owners are not of the feint of heart variety so... CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Of course the donations would have been made one way or the other, but where is the fun in simply writing a check (I'm talkin to you Patrick Stewart). Sit back in your nice dry seat and watch the fun... then participate. Make your donations at www.alsa.org AND take the challenge yourself. Tom nominated: Gene Stutzman Doug nominated: #Amazon.com /#FedEx / #NASA / #NationalGeographic / #CirqueDusoleil / #Pepsi C'mon folks, you got 24 hrs.
I just want to thank all those amazing people out there, famous or unknown, who did the ALS Challenge.
For those idiots who don't understand, ALS is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," which is a disease that effects ones brain cells and spinal chord. The ALS Association is an organisation which is looking to "Leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support." as they say on their website.
All these "stupid" challenges that people do are actually part of a fundraising, they are not doing this for the sake of it. They are really donating and creating awareness in a very effective way. So stop being an idiot and start understanding that these people are helping make a difference. Be awesome and help the organisation.
