idk if anyone else has noticed this or pointed it out on here but recently we held the very lovely @rubypet at gunpoint to watch the markiplier egos lore and something it noticed in date during Dark's route is that when you shoot left or right Dark and Mark will react VERY DIFFERNTLY.
When you shoot Dark, Mark (or Actor whatever you wanna call him) seems to kinda just? not care?? He only apologizes once to you and treats the fact you literally had to shoot him or Dark like a small inconvenience at best.
BUT THEN when you shoot Mark Dark seems to care a lot more. Not only does he apologize profusely but he actually tries to reasure you and make sure you're ok. Als it sounds way more genuine and caring in contrast to Mark, who more or less had the tone of a teenage girl who saw a dead bug.
Now we could say this is Dark doing his false sense of security thing and luring you deeper in by pretending he cares about you,
HOWEVER
heres where my stupid ass gets into "batshit crazy grasping at straws theory"
What if Dark Does actually care here?
ok ok i know i know, he pulls the "ahaha you fell for my bullshit ahaha" at the end which definitely proves that he's just manipulating us and doesnt care at all, but here me out: what if in that moment he realizes that getting back at Actor isn't worth putting us through the trauma.
I say this☝️because if Dark's code in heist leading us to the bloopers (aka him saying he's quite literally aware this is all a set for Actor to mess around on) is anything to go by, maybe in that brief moment he realized that Actor likely isn't dead and everything he did wasn't worth it end because it'll all just start over again. ANNND thats why when he drops his guise yet again, he says we "made the wrong choice" since he knows everything was futile and nothing good really happened for you or him in this case and Actor is just going to start everything over again until we get the true ending.
