hiii yes, i am... because of uas 🫩

#a rant incoming #just last week we finished the first event (lunch pop up) of the two we have to host. what we have left of that is to do a report #however. now we have to do the second event NEXT WEEK already. we have to do the plan and order what we need #and then we have a teams meeting. then on friday i have to go to school for a meeting for benchmarking/ the business idea/ email writing #that deadline is on next week’s sunday #then next week we have the event—we have to cook with some students and do another report but for this event #we have to be in touch with two different groups for certain reasons also—as well as the contact person #then we also have to read a book and do a reading circle thingy three times (we won’t)#and i’ve to make sure my internship and everything is all okay through my teacher #but first i need to wait until i know if i got a job that’d PAY so i wouldn’t have to work free labor the entire fricking summer 🫩#so yeah i’m busy #also annoyed #꒰ 💌 ‧₊˚ ݁ love letters ꒱

You wanna know what irks me while reading recency compliant fics? When an author describes using or seeing something (common, household items, nothing obscure) that hasn't been invented yet... a quick Google search will tell you what you need to know. par exemple: the zipper wasn't invented until 1893...

Now, would I ever comment on someone's work and say this? Absolutely not. Would I come onto tumblr and complain about it anonymously? Absolutely, and obviously, yes.

What would a new year be without someone making the standard “STEROIDS” comment on one of my pics. Annoyed at the instant dismissal that I couldn’t possibly have accomplished any of this without drugs. But also flattered knowing I have indeed accomplished all of this without drugs much to the disbelief of some! Oh well, people will think what people will think and I will just carry on!💪🏼

I had an obsession for a while of watching “doctor reacts to The Pitt” videos on YouTube (A+ content fully recommend). But apparently the algorithm took that to mean that I was interested in all kinds of reaction videos. I’m astounded by how many YouTube channels is just some dude watching random videos and pausing every 20 seconds to say “wow that’s crazy”. How on earth is that a viable format? I’m fascinated.

So beside University i work a few hours a week for a company giving extra classes to struggling students. i have groups up to six kids who work on their own stuff and i am basically there to give them exercises, help when needed and make sure everyone stays quiet and working. In good courses that means i have a lot of time just sitting around with the company laptop, so i spend a lot of paid time browsing the internet (i am paid minimum wage, they treat yoiu like a contractor so you can't get promoted or get a raise, not a lot of incentive to be extra productive).

So i spend my time on the internet, glancing up at my students every once in a while and keeping my pokerface. Where am i hanging out? This beautiful hellsite (i am typing this on work time, best example); stupid games (if these laptops wouldn't get reset so often i would have HIGH scores in wordle) or, my favorite, ao3.

which leads me to my newest discovery. today i tried to open up the site to - well, you're on tumblr, you know what people do on a03 - and was treated to a sterile white page informing me that the website i was trying to open was blocked on this network.

i never had problems before accessing the site from here so i investigated and found a small explanation below.

This website was blocked due to the floowing categories: Tasteless

I wish i was kidding.

So now i am blocked from my emotional support copyright infringement and left to ponder very important questions:

Does my work use a contracted internet filter? If so, who would call a web filter company to complain about ao3? And doesn't that have to get verified?

Or, if they don't, who at my work knows about ao3? And why would they block it?

And, for all the somewhat understandable reasons ao3 might be a good idea to block in an environment where children might have access, why put it in the category "tasteless"?

not Palaye related but I'm annoyed. I've been watching the fifth season of 9-1-1 and I find myself continually disappointed. This week's episode didn't hit the level of creepiness that was promised in the trailer and the whole show's dynamic just seems off. I know everyone has drama and separate storylines, but it just seems the writers have dropped the ball for this season after the third episode.

on a sub-note, I've noticed that a lot of shows' fifth seasons always tend to suck before being revived around season six or seven. is it only me that notices? I know season five is a big milestone but I would just expect a bit more for this show.

*sigh* maybe I just have too high standards??
