“i’m not going anywhere.” ( for kaiser )
a hand around his throat, insults, bottles thrown and glass shattering, then a fire. kaiser is used to seeing these same scenarios over and over again. it used to bother him, to think about the day he lost his home and also the rough childhood prior to his escape from the kitsune clan obliteration was like coming back to an unfished cigarette. it left his mouth bitter, short of breathe and there was a heat that coiled and burned everything inside of him. each ragged breath signaling his distress as a new addition to the dream seemed to make something already traumatic worse.
he shoots up with a start, breathe shaky and deep even in his own ears, drowning out he loud screeches of the cicadas outside. sweat dripped down his forehead, onto the blanket where he'd managed to dampen it, no thanks to the unruly heat. it's when michael is able to grasp on to the fact he'd woken up in a hot and cold sweat, that he hears a voice. its soothing, a balm over his ears that he can turn to, and he does, right into a sleepy rin. the other woke up rubbing his eyes sleepily, no doubt disturbed by micheal's fitful sleep and now this. rin's hands find their way onto his back. kaiser felt like his body was already on fire, but rin's palm was a soothing sort of warmth. slowly but surely, kaisers breathing got easier, exhaustion wore his face down to where all he could do is be held by the other boy while he shook like a leaf.
those four words made the kitsune nod his head, unable to say a word for the moment, but kaiser knew rin. such a curious boy and such things happen to be a weakness of theirs. “ h-how much did you hear...? sleep talkin's embarassin'... ”
