For your drabble requests, perhaps Finn/Rey + birdwatching? Or anything happy and nature/outdoors/springtime themed. <3 <3
Thank you!! I’ve never been bird watching but after this… I am intrigued… :D 💗
Set post-TFA.
His lungs and legs ached, but though a six-minute mile had been easy, back then, Finn felt a brighter pride at being able to make it up the slope without stopping to rest even once. Rey scooted closer to him, grinning as she handed him the canteen - nowhere near as out of breath as he was, though being thrown against that tree had left its mark - their legs dangling over the old stone ruins that watched over the hidden Resistance base in the valley below.
Kix had suggested the hike for the both of them, and he’d also suggested keeping an eye out for the rare D’Qar hawk as Finn slowly progressed through extensive, seemingly-never-ending rehab: “A no-pressure, no-risk mission. Something for your head to focus on while your body recovers.”
“Oh, Finn, look…!”
Finn leaned against Rey, mindful of his healing wound, and together, they watched in silence - only the sound of their breathing, slowing now in wonder - as an emerald hawk climbed into the air, up up up, until it was a mere ghost of calm, unhurried freedom against the brilliant blue sky.
