think with ghost Charles in moments of necessity he can become more ghost-y (really just make himself incorporeal and otherwise unkillable) but it requires him to concentrate on the part of him that died in Pine Cliff and all the despair and remorse and hopelessness that is ghosts, so though he's physically protected, it comes at the cost of psychological/emotional distress
me: ok i’m so gonna come back home today and do all my homework and- me on the very same day for 5 hours straight(i’m not):
The witch of the war god used to love putting on the armor.
Her enemies feared the sword. And to be fair, it was the sword killing them. But they really should have been afraid of the shield. It was the shield that removed her fear. It was the shield that let her charge into their ranks and decimate their forces without regard for her own safety.
If her enemies could see her face under the helmet, they would not see fear. Nor would they see glee. She felt nothing during a fight. In those moments, she was blessed with stillness like no other.
When the armor was on, there wasn't a her. There were muscles moving legs, muscles swinging the sword, muscles blocking with the shield. Meat encased in metal. She wasn't a person; she was a force, a weapon. She was an it. And she loved it.
When the meat failed, there was always a witch to fix it. There's a certain kind of love between a weapon and the smith, and she knew it well.
She only stopped because the meat couldn't be fixed anymore. And it was then that she became a war witch.
It was all she knew to do.
I don't know if the ghost in me wants to move on to an actual afterlife or if the demon wants to go back to hell or both but I've been getting intense kin feelings and I know I definitely don't belong here.
