Actually, my controversial 13th era companion opinion is that aside from Ryan, Dan is the one she took to the absolute fastest.

And while I think she took to Ryan very quickly, she also put effort into keeping the whole fam at an emotional distance in s11 for quite a while, meaning in effect that Dan was the smoothest companion acquisition for her.
