“To the light that you keep burning there (all hell)”
I’m not sure if the 2000s comics have just grown on me over time like an especially unpleasant fungus, but I’ve come to appreciate the Jason + Joker parallels / Jason as the Joker + Batman’s narrative ‘child’ schtick exclusively (+ I do mean exclusively) b/c they entail that Jason has the Joker’s ‘hyper-sanity’.
Or at least enough of his meta-awareness to sense the absurdity of those around him insisting upon genre conventions which he inherently deconstructs + transgresses. I like how Jason’s desire to receive love from those around him + to make a difference in the world like his dad is the main thing keeping him trapped in the cogs. And how if he let that go, he really would ascend above the narrative like the Joker. But whereas the Joker responded to that revelation by generating endless chaos for entertainment purposes (the only foundation for his or anyone’s continued existence in a super-hero comic book), it would be interesting to see what Jason would choose to do.
i know you just dont have internet right now but the fact that ‘hostilemuppet is cancelled’ has been your last post for over a week is really good. also jesus christ.
Probably the funniest fucking time possible for my Internet to go out for a week huh. Anyway hi guys I'm back
"shonen?" yeah....they're 'for boys' alright...
ugh the ladies can’t handle me (i’m gay)
I find it peculiar that people often say that Cartman or Timmy are the only ones that remember Kenny's deaths, but forget that literally EVERYONE did too before "Kenny Dies" and the Mysterion plotline. Even the reactions towards his deaths have different since that episode. (I have nothing against the theories, it's just we don't know if they still hold up. Only Kenny's parents are confirmed to still remember. Everyone else has their minds wiped{Stan, Kyle} or is left ambiguous{Cartman})
BOOKS I’VE READ IN 2021: Fang (Maximum Ride #6) by James Patterson (reread)
“The thing is, Maximum, I love you. I can't help but be focused on you when we're together. If you're in the room, I want to be next to you. If you're gone, I think about you. You're who I want to talk to. In a fight, I want you at my back. When we're together, the sun is shining. When we're apart, everything is in shades of gray.”
