The casting was so perfect , reminds me of the movie intro "She's the cutest maknae!...but she gets scary, like so scary you better watch out!"

Both Zoey and Mira had their "scary to cute" or "cute to scary moments" but if I had to guess Mira oscilates more often between states depending who she's speaking to but Zoey goes harder on both extremes: melting ayego face to "watch out she's got a knife! where did she even get a knife?"

Unironically think Zoey has chihuahua energy. Vicious hunting dog forced to live on a pound and a half flesh shell.

Were They in Love?

So in my first read of the Tsubasa Epilogue I had expressed some confusion over this bit:

In which I couldn't remember their relationship developing in this direction and so was wondering when that had happened.

TURNS OUT I JUST FORGOR. This definitely happened on screen, during Lava Lamp's flashback arc.

In past!me's defence I'm pretty sure the romantic side of their relationship is confined to the tiniest few pages, and it's DURING the big dramatic flashback arc, where there's a lot of new information being thrown at you at once, so I think it just didn't stand out very much. Especially compared to the big sprawling tragic romance of Sakura and Syaoran, which is spread across pretty much the entire narrative and takes about 225 chapters.

By comparison the Tsubasa Tsubasa romance is pretty much confined to these pages here:

And that's kind of IT until their big reunion in the epilogue.

So, I see how I forgot, but it was definitely in there AND adds a lot more emotion to Lava Lamp's arc of trying to save her. After everything they've been through they do deserve a big dramatic confession scene, so I'm glad they got one!

Also as a sidenote, I think it's VERY fun that Lava Lamp visibly expresses his affection differently to Syaoran, who would had a bit more of the classic blush + embarrassment combo. Lava Lamp, by comparison, has a bit more of an open and earnest smile with no sign of a flush whatsoever. And I just think that's neat!

TLDR: YES, they were in love.
